Joe Biden ‘to make decision on dropping out of race this weekend’ after Covid diagnosis as he ‘surrenders to pressure’

SEVERAL top Democrats believe President Joe Biden could drop out of the 2024 presidential race as soon as this weekend.

Party members shared that Biden, 81, is feeling the pressure to exit due to growing concerns about his age and wellbeing.

Democrats say Biden is surrendering to the pressure as Democrat leaders, Biden's friends, and campaign donors privately told Axios that they don't think he could win the race.

A friend of the president said that he's "headed that way."

"His choice is to be one of history's heroes, or to be sure of the fact that there'll never be a Biden presidential library," the close friend told the outlet.

"I pray that he does the right thing. He's headed that way."

The news comes after Biden announced yesterday that he tested positive for Covid-19, but said that he's "feeling good."

The diagnosis was shared publicly hours after he said he'd only consider dropping out of the presidential race if he had a medical condition that prevented his run.

Dozens of Democrat leaders have already called for Biden to step down as fears are growing that Donald Trump could win in a landslide.

Former President Barack Obama has also reportedly said that Biden should reconsider his run against Trump, according to the Washington Post.

Obama told allies that "Biden’s path to victory has greatly diminished and he thinks the president needs to seriously consider the viability of his candidacy," per the outlet.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has advised Biden that it would be best if he dropped from the race, according to ABC News.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders also admitted that Biden "can't put three sentences together," but that the President still has his support.

"I would much prefer to have somebody who can't put three sentences together who is setting forth an agenda that speaks to the needs of working-class people," Sanders told the New Yorker.

Axios previously reported that a Democrat official said that Biden "will not be dragged off the stage.

"The goal is to let him walk off the stage," the source said.

Democrats expect the polls to lean toward Trump after this week's Republican National Convention.
