Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters 2024 LIVE RESULTS: Ronnie O’Sullivan vs Si Jiahui, Judd Trump faces Neil Robertson – latest

  • Brentwood and Wuhan calling

While we're still some way away from the curtain closing in Riyadh, the WST have announced the full draws for their next two events.

Essex is the first port of call with the English Open, with the top seeds set to enter in at round three on Monday, September 16.

Defending champion Judd Trump, reigning world champion Kyren Wilson and fan favourite Ronnie O'Sullivan are all taking part in Brentwood.

The final takes place on Sunday, September 22.

Then, from October 6-12, the world's top players head to China for the Wuhan Open - with Trump also the defending champion of that event.

The Juddernaut begins his campaign in Round 1 against Antoni Kowalski, while O'Sullivan also enters at the same stage and faces Mitchell Mann.

  • 'A matter of time'

Robertson's opponent Judd Trump is also not surprised by the Australian's return to form.

The current world No 1 knows he will have to be at his best to beat the man he faces in the quarter-final.

Trump impressed in a resounding 6-1 win over Jack Lisowski on Wednesday, the seventh successive win against his pal that included three century breaks.

Speaking about Robertson, Trump said: "It was only a matter of time. A few people have said that they didn’t think he was going to get back but he’s way too good for that to happen.

"I think he was lacking belief and looking at too many things that can go wrong. I think playing those few games in qualifiers have helped his confidence."

  • Robertson 'better than ever'

Former world champion Neil Robertson has said he's "better player than I ever have been" after showing off some dominant form in the desert.

The Australian will face Judd Trump in the quarter-final after dropping just six frames in his four matches in Saudi Arabia so far, brushing past Gary Wilson 6-1 in the last 16.

The 2010 world champion dropped as low as No 27 in the world rankings last season but has spent the summer at the practise table to get his form back.

He said: "I’m definitely back, 100 per cent. I’m a better player than I ever have been. I have worked so hard over the last six months on every aspect of my game. I’ve realised that my reputation can only get me so far.

"I probably haven’t said too much about my game over the last 18 months, but I’ve got that sense of pride again with my safety game. My game is in a good place and I’m delighted to get through because Gary is a top player.

"It will be nice to play Judd. It has been a while since I’ve played him. Whenever we’ve played it has always been a massive occasion. Playing in the quarter-finals here has been fantastic."

  • More from Ronnie

The seven-time world champion has also frequently been seen using his left hand out in Riyadh - not to showboat but to give himself a bit of enjoyment and confidence with his game, in his mind at least, struggling.

Asked more about his performance, he said: "Not great. I’ll put it on the back burner a bit.

"I haven't had no feel for over two years now, it's been really difficult to sort of get any enjoyment from it.

"Its been tough, you know, so I decided to start playing a bit left-handed because it just frees me up a bit. I enjoy playing and then I can actually practice.

"For me, anything to get my cue out of the case and obviously when I go into the match I've just got to do anything I can to compete but it's not pretty, it's not good.

“I’m not flowing but what can you do. Just got to go with what you've got."

  • Ronnie retirement?

Despite his thrilling comeback win over Zhang Anda, where he fought from 3-0 down to secure a brilliant win in the final frame, Ronnie O'Sullivan was far from pleased with his performance.

The Rocket, 48, will play Si Jiahui in the quarter-final at 6pm tonight, but dropped yet another hint that his time at the baize is coming to an end.

O’Sullivan said: "I ain’t got long left. I’ll be lucky if I’m in the top 16 in two or three years the way I’m playing.

"The way I’ve been playing, it’s no fun for me. I just want to play well for seven, eight or nine matches on the bounce.

"He’s (Zhang) the best fluker I’ve ever seen. I thought he was going to fluke one and make 70."

He added: "There are so many unforced errors and so many mistakes compared to how it used to be. That is the reason why I don’t feel as dominant.

"I don’t think you can get that feeling back. I look at Stephen Hendry, Steve Davis, Jimmy White and John Higgins and watch them.

"I know how they used to play in their prime and then watch them towards the end, they are missing too many balls, making too many mistakes and have too much inconsistency. You need to be consistent to be a proper winner."
