‘Welcome to adulthood’ woman slammed as she sobs about 40-hour per week job that’s ‘too exhausting to have social life’

A WOMAN has been slammed online after crying over her ‘hard’ work life balance and not managing to fit anything or anyone else in.

Social media user Brielle explained she had landed her first job after college, but hadn’t been prepared for how tough it would be.

So the 21-year-old uploaded a video to her TikTok account where she appealed to others about how they manage to work a 9-5 and still “have time for your life.”

In the clip posted to her profile @briellybelly123, she began: “I know I’m probably just being so dramatic and annoying but this is my first job, my first 9-5 job, after college.”

Listing off her complaints, she continued: “I’m commuting in the city and it takes me f***ing forever to get there, [and] there’s no way I’m going to be able to afford living in the city right now, so that’s off the table.

“If I was able to walk to work it’d be fine, but I’m not.”

Brielle then explained that she gets on the train at 7.30am, does a full day’s work and then walks back through her door at around 6.15pm in the evening.

She continued to rant, as she said: “I don’t have time to do anything.I want to shower, eat my dinner and go to sleep.

“I don’t have time or energy to cook my dinner either, I don’t have energy to work out – that’s out of the window.”

With tears in her eyes, she added: “I’m so upset.

“Nothing to do with my job at all, but the 9-5 scheduling in general is crazy.

“Being in the office 9-5. If it was remote, you get off at 5pm and you’re home and everything’s fine.

“But I’m not home – it takes me long to get home.”

Brielle then acknowledged that although she knew “it could be worse” and that she could be working longer than 40 hours per week, she hated the fact that it was “pitch black” outside when she left the office.

She questioned: “How do you have friends? How do you have time to meet a guy or time for dating?

“I don’t have time for anything, and I’m so stressed out.”

While some said they got her struggles and said her concerns were “totally valid”, many more of her 225k followers were less sympathetic.

One person commented on her video: “Welcome to adulthood.”

A second social media shared their sentiment, as they added: “Sorry girl, this is part of transitioning from college to the black hole of 60 years in the 9-5 workforce.”

While a third added: “We have all felt that way, [but] this is life and we continue to do it.”
