Don’t spend a ton of money on spring decor – I DIYed a Pottery Barn Easter dupe with stuff I got at Dollar Tree
A DIY pro has shown how to create a replica of a Pottery Barn decoration with Dollar Tree buys.
She said her Easter hack is a "labor of love," but it will last for years to come.
TikToker Jay Munee (@jaymuneediy) showed how to make affordable decorations for spring.
"Do not spend a ton of money on spring decor," she said.
Jay was inspired by the Pottery Barn napkin rings, which aren't available anymore.
She purchased wooden bunnies from Dollar Tree and then used a drill to create a hole in the ear.
Jay grabbed book rings from the school section supplies, but she said you can also use shower curtain rings.
The next part of the craft is to decorate the ring.
"I use some natural jute raffia and I added a little tiny bit of hot glue and then wrapped all the way around," she said.
Jay admitted the process was time-consuming.
"This was a labor of love, but trust me, these last for years," she said.
Once the ring was decorated, Jay tied the bunny.
Jay then created her napkins from flower sacks at Dollar Tree.
She said to wash them without fabric softener, and then she dyed them with Rit.
As a tip, Jay used a drop of Dawn dish soap.
For the final step, Jay ironed a vinyl white bunny to the napkin.
She said you can use a stamp, or paint one, too.
