Traveller slams infuriatingly complicated hotel check in rules – and everyone is saying the same thing
A TRAVELLER has slammed infuriatingly complicated hotel check-in rules - and everyone has been saying the same thing.
The Instagram page travellerau posted a common hassle most people face when staying in a hotel abroad.
They said: "Why do so many four- and five-star hotels persist with such lengthy check-in processes?"
They added how the first thing you want to do when you arrive at your destination is to grab "the key so I can go to the room".
However, at most hotels, this is not the case and travellers are instead greeted with forms and paperwork to fill in.
They said: "It’s like some ridiculous ceremony where you’re asked to fill in details on a form, confirm car rego, do the £1 credit card transaction before having your card presented back to you.

"Before they move on to the coding of the room keys, the special stapling and folding of paperwork, and then a full explanation of how room keys work, or Wi-Fi arrangements."
The experts ended their rant with: "Just give me the key card in one minute or less. For me, that’s the perfect check-in."
People left comments agreeing with the experts' opinion on hotel check-in times while some were confused about what the staff do.
"Couldn't agree more! So frustrating!" one user commented.
Another added: "Yeah then when you leave they don't give you the time of day. "drop the key in the return box & don't bother us"
A third person wrote: "Omg I’m always curious what they are typing away for something seemingly uncomplicated!!!"
One user suggested: "Put coded locks on all hotel doors so we can get rid of all that hideous plastic."
While, another jokingly added: "Pre-book and provide all your details and you turn up and it’s a big surprise."
