Cringing Gregg Wallace forced to backtrack after dealing brutal MasterChef snub to Alison Hammond
A CRINGING Gregg Wallace was left scrambling over his words after dealing Alison Hammond a harsh MasterChef snub.
The telly judge, who hosts the BBC One cooking competition alongside John Torode, is joined by the This Morning hostess on Sky's new quiz show, Rob Beckett's Smart TV.
But Gregg, 59, found himself in an awkward situation after admitting he forgot that Alison, 49, took part in the celebrity version of the competition.
Alison took the kitchen back in 2014, where she cooked up a storm with a delicious cooking dish alongside JLS singer JB Gill and actors Amanda Burton and Ken Morley.
But with ten years passing since her appearance, Gregg had forgotten all about it.
In a first look at the next episode of comedian Rob's new show, Gregg says: "No, Alison, you haven't done [Masterchef]? No? Have you been on it?"

When Alison reveals she had already taken part and made a delicious "chicken curry", Gregg quickly backtracks: "That was one of the best chicken curries I've ever tasted."
It comes after Jamie Laing admitted he was forced to delete an X-rated video of himself after mortifying discovery when watching it back on Rob's show.
Jamie then admitted to the panel: "Speaking of werewolves, have you ever recorded yourself getting a bit frisky? Because when I was younger, my ex-girlfriend and I tried.
“I thought it would be funny to try it, but we had to delete it quickly because I sounded like a werewolf.
“At one point I started barking, it was like Scooby-Doo.”
Alison chimed in: "What I'd say is, don't record yourself, don't take pictures, don't do FaceTime, don't do any of that."
To which Rob jibed: "And if you do it, don't admit to it on a TV quiz."
Rob Beckett's Smart TV continues next Tuesday on Sky Max at 9pm.
