A FORD Capri has gone up for sale after being left “parked up for 35 years” before it was thoroughly restored.
The classic motor, which is a firm favourite among enthusiasts, is finished in blue and has just 28,000 miles on the clock.
According to the listing, the Mk2 Capri originally had a 1.6-litre motor but was later upgraded by the previous owner to a 2.0 Ghia.
Ghia was Ford’s luxury car-styling company at the time, mostly known for more plush interiors compared to standard models.
The classic motor was then “parked up for 35 years” before it was bought by the current owner - who rebuilt the Capri’s engine.
The listing said: “I stripped the engine which was completely seized, then rebuilt it with new parts.”

The rebuild includes a respray as well as new wheel bearings, brake pipe cylinders, and a complete exhaust system.
They added: “It drives well for a 46-year-old car, I encourage and recommend you view so you know what you are buying.”
The Capri in question is priced at just £8,500 and can be bought via car auction speciaists Cars & Classic.
Being over 40 years old, the car is also exempt from MOT and road tax requirements.
First produced in 1974 after the huge success of the Mk1 Capri, the Mk2 ran for four years and built by Ford to be more aligned to everyday driving.
It came with a shorter bonnet, larger cabin and a hatchback-style rear door.
The Capri model was later heavily facelifted with the Mk3.
