    Manchester United football director John Murtough has admitted he is concerned about falling on the wrong side of the Premier League’s Financial Fair Play rules.

    Discussing the club’s potential January transfer business at a fans’ forum, he said: “We have seen this season that FFP rules have real teeth,

    “So we have to be very careful to ensure that we remain compliant, and we will.

    “We don’t expect it to be particularly busy [In January]. There will always be opportunities”

  • Liverpool's Lloyd Kelly U-turn

    Liverpool are reportedly cooling their interest in Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly.

    The 25-year-old Englishman was said to be attracting interest from the Reds with his contract at the Vitality Stadium set to expire at the end of the season.

    However the Mail Online have reported that despite the his future free agent status, Liverpool are having second thoughts on striking up a deal.

    The Merseyside club are now said to be wondering if Kelly is up to the required standard to play for Liverpool and may turn their attention elsewhere.

    Tottenham, who were also linked with a move for the Cherries centre-back, are said to have taken a similar stance.

  • Gunners to reject Kiwior approaches

    Arsenal are reportedly expected to turn down any offers for Jakub Kiwior in January.

    According to The Standard, The Gunners’ defender is attracting a lot of interest from Italy.

    It is said that AC Milan are interested in the 23-year-old, however Arsenal do not want to let their man go.

    Kiwior has struggled for regular game time with the Emirates Stadium outfit since arriving from Spezia in last January.

    However Mikel Arteta has recently begun to integrate him into the setup more with the Polish International starting two of Arsenal’s last four games.

    Newcastle are reportedly leading the race for Juventus youngster Matias Soule.

    The 20-year-old has been impressing this season while on loan at Frosinone where he has scored six goals in 12 league appearances.

    And his form has attracted interested from the Premier League with Tottenham and Crystal Palace said to be interested in the forward.

    However according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, it's Newcastle who are closest to getting a deal over the line with Juventus.

    The Magpies are understood to be growing in confidence with regard to coming to an agreement for Soule.

    Thomas Muller has signed a new deal at Bayern Munich that will see him stay with the club until 2025.

    The German icon had previously been linked with a move to Manchester United, but now looks to be staying with the Bavarians.

    Muller has made an impressive 684 appearances for Bayern and has been with the club since 2009.

  • Spurs target to sign new deal

    Tottenham target Radu Dragusin is set to sign a new deal with Genoa in the coming days.

    The North London club have been linked with a move for the defender with reports suggesting they're ready to move for him in January.

    However their hopes of signing the 21-year-old have taken a hit after Genoa director Marco Ottolino revealed he will be extending his stay with the club.

    He said: "He’s the next one to sign new deal until June 2028."

  • Chelsea to block Madueke loan

    Chelsea are reportedly not willing to allow Noni Madueke to leave the club on loan this January.

    Madueke has made just one Premier League start for The Blues this season and has bee linked with winter loan move to boost his game time.

    But according to The Athletic, Chelsea are not willing to let him leave on a temporary basis and see him as an established first team player.

    The London club are understood to only be willing to allow young talent in need of development to be loaned out in the upcoming window.

  • Dortmund keen on Reguilon loan

    Borussia Dortmund have reportedly made Tottenham full-back Sergio Reguilon their number one target ahead of the January transfer window.

    Reguilon is currently on loan with Manchester United, but is said to have a break clause in his contract for January.

    According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Patrick Berger, Dortmund are prioritising a move for the 27-year-old.

    It is reported that the German giants have already made an enquiry with Spurs about the potential of a six month loan move for the Spaniard.

  • Forest announce Cooper departure

    Nottingham Forest have announced the departure of manager Steve Cooper with the club just five points off the relegation zone.

    It is understood that Nuno Espirito Santo is expected to be brought in by the Tricky Trees to replace the Cooper.

    Owner Evangelos Marinakis discussed the exit of Cooper, who had been in charge since 2021, in a club statement.

    He said: “Everyone at Nottingham Forest would like to thank Steve for his superb contribution to our football club. His achievement in guiding Forest back to the Premier League will undoubtedly remain an iconic moment in the Club’s history.

    “We thank Steve for his dedication and commitment during his time with us, as well as the incredible connection he forged with our supporters and the city of Nottingham.

    Manchester United football director John Murtough has warned that the club are unlikely to do any business in the January transfer window.

    Speaking at a Man Utd fans’ forum he explained that the club don’t see the winter window as good time to be recruiting players.

    Looking ahead to the January transfer window, we are not expecting it to be particularly busy.

    There will always be the possibility of deals around the edges of the squad, particularly in terms of finding opportunities for players who are not playing as much football as they would like.

    However, we’ve always been consistent in saying that we do not see January as the optimal time to do business and our recruitment strategy remains focused on summer windows.

    “It’s crazy money. I’m not sure it’s a good idea for Arsenal to go straight on the market and buy Luiz for that much. I think he’s injured too much and the way that Aston Villa are playing, he probably doesn’t want to leave.

    “If I was Douglas Luiz I’d be very excited to have an offer from Arsenal, but I’d think straight away, I’d look at my current teammates and say, ‘We are second place in the table and only one point off Arsenal. What happens if we do something very special.’

    “We can imagine Aston Villa playing in the Champions League now. When you leave in the middle of a season, you have to be very careful.

    “When you’re playing at the best level with your current club, it’s a very big risk to change and go to another club.

    “I can understand it’s very exciting to join Arsenal, but the timing, I don’t think it’s good for him.”
