Meet the twins born just three minutes apart – but on different YEARS

A MUM has revealed her twin babies were born years apart - but with just a three-minute difference.

For one couple, the New Year's Eve was extra special, as the duo found themselves new parents to twins who were born on different years.

According to Yale New Haven Hospital in the USA, Mykel and Aliyah Kiyomi Morris of welcomed in baby boy Seven Morris at 11:59pm.

The newborn joined the delighted couple weighing in at six pounds, nine ounces and was the last recorded birth of 2023, as hospitals only record births to the minute, not seconds.

But just minutes later, three to be exact, the baby boy was also joined by his baby sister, Soili Morris.

Also checking in at a healthy six pounds and nice ounces, she arrived at 12:02 am in 2024.

According to the hospital, which ended 2023 and began 2024 with twins, the family is doing great and getting some well-deserved rest.

The couple are not the only ones whose tots were born on different years this season.

Mum Eve Humphrey, from New Jersey, the USA, gave birth to Ezra and Ezekiel Humphrey less than an hour apart on December 31st, 2023, and January 1st, 2024, respectively.

The twins’ father, Billy Humphrey, who turned 36 that week, told “Good Morning America” that it was a definitely birthday to remember.

“I was very excited [about] the potential of having my boys on my birthday.

“We went in that day and I wasn’t quite sure if they’re going to come today or not, but having one of them at least on my birthday was a huge blessing and a gift.”

According to New York Post, Eve had gone to the hospital on Saturday but was sent home after an apparent false alarm.

However, the 34-year-old biology professor returned the next day when her water broke and she went into labour Sunday night.

Weighing in at 6 pounds, the first to join them was Ezra, who born just before 2024 at 11:48 p.m. on New Year's Eve.

His brother Ezekial arrived 40 minutes and a whole year later at 12:28 a.m. on January 1st, weighing in at 4 pounds and 15 ounces.

Looking back at the incredible moment, Eve said: ''It was a good experience.

''It was cool pushing out a baby while everyone’s counting down and saying ‘Happy New Year’ and, you know, it was like they had a birthday party.

“I’m grateful everyone was healthy and things went pretty smoothly,” she continued.

“So that’s the best thing you can ask for, especially because they’re a little bit early and everything, that they’re doing fine and I’m fine.”

The parents added that the duo arrived a few weeks ahead of their due date, which has been scheduled for January 26th, and added that they were shocked after first learning they were expecting twins.

According to Billy, who's a pastor, ''it was kind of difficult to take in for a little bit''.

“They’re like, ‘We’re gonna have twins. OK. Alright. What does that mean? What does that look like?’

“So, it was a lot of information to take in.

“Definitely glad she FaceTimed me. I probably would have thought she was trying to play some prank on me or something.”

As for now, the father revealed that the boys are doing ''really, really good'' and they were hoping to leave the hospital to meet their older brother Hezekiah, three.

“[I’m] looking forward to sharing birthdays together and celebrating together and everything that looks like,” Billy said.

However, the one thing he is certainly not looking forward to is the confusion, Billy explained in a chat with Fox 29.

“Tell somebody you have twins, and they want to write down the same date. No, they’re born on different days in different years too.”
