I wanted to be a stay-at-home mum so set up a side hustle in my kitchen using a punnet of grapes – I make £150 an hour

A STAY-AT-HOME mum has shared a side hustle that makes her loads of money - and all she needs is a punnet of grapes.

Briza Yizel shared details of her side hustle via a video posted to her TikTok channel.

"I'm a stay at home mum with two side hustles and this is one of them", she said.

"It can be hard at times but I'm blessed to he able to stay at home with my babies."

In the video, Briza can be seen in the supermarket picking up some punnets of grapes.

After she gets home, Briza puts the grapes into a large bowl and gives them a good wash.

She then puts them on cocktail sticks before boiling sugar, corn syrup and red food colouring in a bowl.

Briza dips her grapes into the red food colouring, before dipping them in Tajin, a Mexican spice.

She the packages them up alongside a few sweets and sells them to people.

Briza said she uses 10 grapes per box and charges £8 for each order.

There's around 100 grapes in a punnet (which can be purchased for around £1.50) meaning that Briza makes around £80 for every punnet of grapes she uses.

If we take off a few pounds for the cost of the grapes and the other ingredients she uses, and approximate that Briza makes two punnets worth of orders an hour, we can estimate that Briza makes around £150 from her side hustle.

Briza said that all of her customers come to her house to pick up their orders, meaning she doesn't have to pay to deliver them.

She added that she freezes her sweets, so that she doesn't have to make them fresh every day.

Briza's video, which was posted under the username @brizayizel, has gone viral, racking up over 500,000 views.

Are you taxed on side hustles?

Plenty of households are taking on side hustles such as babysitting or setting up an eBay store to boost their earnings.

And luckily, you can use a "trading allowance" which means you don't have to pay tax on any yearly gross income of £1,000 or less.

However, if you do earn over the £1,000 threshold, you will have to declare it to HMRC.

You can claim a trading allowance via Self-Assessment on the Government's website.

First you need to inform them you're a sole trader and tell them how much you earn in income, when you started and who you are.

HMRC will then send you a UTR number which you can use to submit a Self-Assessment tax return.

The tax year runs from April 6 to April 5 of the following year, and the deadline to pay is the following January 31

TikTok users raced to the comments section of the video, to share their thoughts.

One person said: "Girl, that looks super yummy".

Another person said: "Looks so good! My mouth is watering."

A third said: "This is awesome".
