‘It’s the same old people’ rage Coronation Street viewers as multiple characters ‘disappear’ from screens
CORONATION Street viewers have complained about how multiple fan-favourite characters have ‘disappeared’ from the soap recently.
Fans of the beloved ITV show took to social media and penned their concerns about Sam Blakeman after he vanished from screens a while back.
A Reddit user posted his concerns about the character who Jude Riordan plays and asked: “Where is Sam?
He added: “Sam has been missing from any decent storyline for some time now.
"I hope they are not writing him out - I like his precociousness, but I think it was a mistake to involve him with Hope, of all people.”
Replying to the post, a viewer of the show quizzed, "Where is half the cast?" would be a better question”.

Another viewer mentioned how they hadn’t seen the legendary Beth Tinker played by Lisa George, in a while.
The Coronation Street fan said: “I keep thinking this, it seems to be the same old people on screen.
“First time I saw Beth in god knows how long last night, with all two lines she spoke.”
Another Corrie lover gave away a slight spoiler and said: “Without saying any spoilers, iirc he'll be in a big storyline with another character we saw in Tonight's episode in a few weeks or so.”
Plenty of other users replied to the original post, with their assumptions about where the young man could be.
One person reckoned he was “playing his tapes”, while another teased, “Prison. Sorry, force of habit. "
The last time the schoolboy, who is the clever clogs son of Nick Tilsley (Ben Price), was seen on screens was during the festive period.
His storylines involved being in a bit of a love triangle after "dating" cobbles troublemaker Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) but simultaneously managing to be good friends with Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo).
Sam was also quite close to Weatherfield stalwart Roy Cropper, played by David Neilson, the duo played chess together previously.
However, he's also been involved in some hard-hitting storylines, including his mum, Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac), being murdered by Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) due to mistaken identity.
The young man was very instrumental when Harvey occasionally returned from prison, as he was determined to speak to the man who killed his mother with his dad Nick hesitantly accompanying him to the visits.
Unfortunately for Corrie fans tonight the soap has been pulled from ITV due to to the channel's schedule shake-up.
The move comes as the network airs live coverage of the FA Cup action as Tottenham Hotspur take on Manchester City this evening.
