  • Arsenal eyeing Portuguese centre-back

Arsenal are reportedly interested in Sporting Lisbon’s Goncalo Inacio with A Bola claiming the Portuguese side are worried that their young talent might be tempted to leave.

The 22-year-old centre-back has been highly sought after and has previously been linked with a move to fellow Premier League giants Manchester United.

  • Arsenal missing duo for Liverpool clash

Mikel Arteta is unlikely to be able to call upon two players when his side welcome Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Both Mohamed Elneny and Takehiro Tomiyasu are jetting off for international duty.

Elneny has been called up to the Egypt team for the Africa Cup of Nations while Tomiyasu will join Japan for the Asia Cup.

But it's not all bad news for Arteta with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah also unavailable this weekend as he heads away alongside Elneny with the Egypt squad.

  • Gunners could try to loan Toney

With Brentford slapping a whopping £100m price tag on Ivan Toney it looks like it'll be hard work for Arsenal to make a deal happen this month.

Although Fabrizio Romano has claimed that they could make it work by striking up an initial loan deal.

The transfer guru said: “I don’t think it’s going to be easy, and any teams interested in Toney might have to be creative, so maybe a loan deal, but only if there is an obligation to buy.

“So, only if there is a guaranteed sale of Toney, and only for big money, otherwise I think he is going to stay at the club and then probably leave in the summer transfer window.”

  • City to rival Arsenal for Neto

Arsenal can expect competition if they are to reignite their interest in Pedro Neto.

The Gunners have long been linked with the Wolves winger, but have not seen a deal come close yet.

However due to their misfiring forwards and reports suggesting their interest is still there they will disheartened to learn that Man City are also interested.

  • Arsenal still interested in Vlahovic

Arsenal could return for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic this month.

The Gunners were keen on the 23-year-old back in 2022 when he opted to join the Old Lady from Fiorentina.

But Sky Sports reporter Gary Cotterill has hinted that the north London outfit could return for the Serbian due to a number of factors.

Speaking to The Arsenal Beat podcast, he said: "Another player though we know Mikel Arteta is a fan of is Dusan Vlahovic.

"Juventus wanted £50m, but that was too steep for Arsenal, but Juventus have financial problems.

“They would listen to a cash-plus-player offer and there are also these tax rules in Italy which is something for them to consider.”

  • Gunners lodge PGMOL complaint over Saka

Arsenal launched an official complaint to the PGMOL amid concerns that Bukayo Saka is not adequately protected by referees.

The England international is currently the third most fouled player in the Premier League this season and there is a feeling among the higher ups at Arsenal that player's aren't punished for fouling him.

The Gunners believe stronger punishments should be dished out to prevent Saka from being targeted by opposition players.

  • Young Guns attracting interest

Two rising stars at Arsenal are said to be attracting interest this winter.

According to The Standard, Amario Cozier-Duberry is wanted by a number of clubs in the Championship and League One.

The 18-year-old is said to have not decided if he will leave yet, but it would be a loan move if something is agreed.

Teammate Reuell Walters is also reported to be wanted on loan this month, but is expected to stay at Arsenal for the time being.

  • Brentford want £100m for Toney

It is looking increasingly unlikely that Ivan Toney will be signing for Arsenal this month.

The Gunners are in desperate need of some goals up top, but they will have to fork out a fortune to add Toney to their ranks.

According to the Independent, Brentford have slapped a £100m price tag on their star man for the winter window.

And a deal of that magnitude would be extremely difficult for Mikel Arteta's Arsenal side to pull off in January.

  • Gunners next five

Arsenal host Liverpool at the Emirates on Sunday as they hope to return to form after a string of bad results.

  • Supercomputer predicts Gunners win

A supercomputer has predicted the results for all of this week's FA Cup third round ties.

And with Arsenal welcoming Liverpool in the weekend's heavyweight clash all eyes will be on the Emirates outfit.

But they may take confidence in the fact that a supercomputer has backed them to get the better of Jurgen Klopp's men.

  • Arsenal to wear white shirts vs Liverpool

Arsenal are going to wear an all white strip for their FA Cup clash with Liverpool on Sunday.

The Gunners are at home, but will sport the changed strip as part of their No More Red campaign against knife crime and youth violence.

  • Frank plays down Toney exit

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has issued a hands off warning over striker Ivan Toney, who has been heavily tipped to leave the Bees this month.

Arsenal and Tottenham are said to be leading the race for the £80m-rated star.

He told Sky Sports: “He is a Brentford player, he is here.

“I can’t see why we should sell him and I would love to have him here for a long time.”

  • Paul Merson slams Kai Havertz

Arsenal midfielder Kai Havertz “doesn’t do anything” for Mikel Arteta’s side, according to Paul Merson.

Merson told Sportskeeda: “Kai Havertz has been good in recent weeks after a tough start to his Arsenal career.

"I was always a big fan of him and knew he’d come good, so it’s been nice to see him emerge as a key player for the club during the festive period.”

  • Arsenal want Barcelona wonderkid

Arsenal and Manchester City are interested in signing Barcelona wonderkid Pedri, according to Fichajes.

Bayern Munich are also keen and the trio are ‘considering the possibility of launching offers in the summer transfer window.

  • Pundit tips Ramsdale for exit

Sheffield United legend Billy Sharp has told talkSPORT that Aaron Ramsdale is likely eyeing an exit from Arsenal after being dropped.

He said: “He wants to play, I think he has already made that clear. I think he is disappointed.

“It is one of them. It is football, it’s cut-throat at times. I think they wanted to sign Raya before Ramsdale.

“They didn’t get him so they got Rammers. The goalkeeping coach was at Brentford before that so they got [Raya] in for whatever reason.

“Whether it’s because he is better with his feet… I am an old-fashioned traditionalist, make the save first.

“I think Rammers is pretty good with his feet. All goalkeepers make errors because it is a difficult part of the pitch because you’re under the microscope all of the time."

  • Nketiah looked up to Arsenal legend

Eddie Nketiah has revealed he looked up to Theirry Henry and Ronaldinho growing up.

He told Sky Sports: "I've had many inspirations - my Dad, in football Thierry [Henry], Ronaldinho, poeple who enjoyed playing football and expressed themselves.

"As I kid that was all I wanted to do, have fun, and that's what they did."

  • Stelling doubts Arsenal title credentials

Jeff Stelling claims Arsenal will not win the league unless they improve their attack.

He told talkSPORT: “If you look at that front three, Martinelli, Jesus, and Saka, between them they have eleven Premier League goals this season. You’re not going to win the title with that sort of output.”

  • Arsenal to prioritise new left-back

Arsenal have made signing a new left-back their priority in this month's transfer market, according to the Daily Mirror.

With money tight due to Financial Fair Play considerations, the north Londoners are looking at loan options.

Arteta has been concerned by Oleksandr Zinchenko's defensive performances this season, with the Ukraine international often struggling against opposition wingers.

Jakub Kiwior has not looked overly comfortable at left-back, while Kieran Tierney is on loan at Real Sociedad.

Arteta has decided that Arsenal need an alternative in that role more urgently than they require a new striker, so any swoop for Ivan Toney or Dominic Solanke will have to wait until the summer.

  • Gunners eye in-demand centre-back

Arsenal are interested in Sporting Lisbon’s Goncalo Inacio with A Bola claiming the Portuguese side are concerned he could leave.

The 22-year-old centre-back is often linked with Europe’s top clubs, including Manchester United.

  • Liverpool deny Arsenal Jones interest

Liverpool are not aware of any interest from Arsenal regarding Curtis Jones, according to Anfield Watch.

Jones has developed into a key player for Jurgen Klopp over the last 12 months and is arguably now the preferred option on the left side of the manager's midfield three when available.

Some reports have claimed that Premier League rivals Arsenal have taken an interest in Jones ahead of a possible summer move. However, this is wide of the mark.

Those rumours were then fuelled by a report which claimed that Jones used to broadcast his boyhood fandom of the Gunners at the Reds' training ground as a youngster.

Anfield Watch understands that Liverpool are very much the homegrown star's club and that his intention is to keep performing and earning the manager's faith.

  • Campbell backs Arsenal for title

Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell believes the Gunners are still in the title race despite the recent dip in form.

He told Sky Sports: “Aaron Ramsdale, England international, got the club to the Champions League, and Mikel Arteta decided that he’s going to bring in better competition,” Campbell told Sky Sports.

“That’s not rocket science, considering Matt Turner went to Nottingham Forest. But the fact of the matter is that Arteta decided that he prefers Raya in goal to Ramsdale.

“I think that’s when the wheels started to really come off, the way the player [Ramsdale] had been treated. But I think it’s died down a bit now.

“I can’t see Arsenal letting Ramsdale leave in January. I think once you get to the summer, then you can move and see how things go.

“But I think Arsenal are still in with a title shout, and they’re going to need both keepers."

  • Arsenal told to quit moaning

Gabby Agbonlahor has told Mikel Arteta and Arsenal to ‘shut up and stop moaning’ after complaints about the treatment of Bukayo Saka.

Speaking on The Sports Breakfast, Agbonlahor said: “Shut up, stop moaning. It’s all you hear off Arteta and Arsenal – get on with it, it’s football.

“Back in your day, you used to get fouled every time you got the ball. Look at the clips of Maradona, he used to get two-footed in the chest!

“Messi – kicked, kicked, kicked – he just gets up, takes a quick free-kick and gets on with it.

“Honestly, just stop moaning. Get on with your game."

“He’s so cool and calm. Quick. Good on the ball.”

  • Arsenal could try for Toney loan

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Arsenal target Ivan Toney can be signed on loan now but on one condition.

The transfer guru said: “I think there is a very good chance for Ivan Toney to stay at Brentford, honestly. This is the feeling, and only if they receive a really important proposal could this change.

“Rumours started in November about an asking price of around £60-65million, but then Brentford understood that there are no other top strikers available on the market, and so now the idea of Brentford is something more like £90-100m for Toney this January.

“I don’t think it’s going to be easy, and any teams interested in Toney might have to be creative, so maybe a loan deal, but only if there is an obligation to buy.

“So, only if there is a guaranteed sale of Toney, and only for big money, otherwise I think he is going to stay at the club and then probably leave in the summer transfer window.”

  • Gunners contact PGMOL over Saka

Arsenal have launched an official complaint to PGMOL amid concerns Bukayo Saka is not being adequately protected by referees.

The England international is currently the third most fouled player in the Premier League this season, but Gunners chiefs feel opposition defenders are not being punished severely enough.

Arsenal believe stronger deterrents should be in place to prevent Saka from being targeted and singled out for particularly rough treatment.
