I’m a proud rich kid – people say I only spend my mum’s money but I don’t care, their mum should work harder

A SELF-PROCLAIMED “rich kid” has hit back at trolls that insinuate spending “her mum’s money” is a bad thing.

In fact, Lailli Mirza retaliated that her critics should “tell their mums to work harder” if they want to live a lavish life like hers.

The 28-year-old also refers to herself as a “stay-at-home daughter” while living the high life in Dubai

She shares insights to her lifestyle to her 265,000 Instagram followers, as well as her 72,000-strong following on TikTok

Lailli self-styles as “unbothered, opinionated and unhinged” and claims to have “multiple personalities”.

The version of her that takes the limelight on her social media channels is her luxury-loving persona.

She shares videos driving around in Mercedes-Benz G Wagons, Rolls-Royce Spectres and Rolls-Royce Ghosts.

These luxury motors respectively cost anywhere from £140,000, £330,000 and £280,000 upwards, according to AutoTrader

Her video telling other peoples’ mums “to work harder” has totted up over 200,000 views.

Lailli paired the statement with two pictures: one of her hugging a grey G-Wagon and another posing with her mum.

“You slayed this trend,” Kyle Allen commented.

“She is blessed, girl” another viewer penned.

“And I do not see any problem in that.

“Live your life, girl!”

Lailli clarified in the comments that her dad’s side of the family are “old money from India” but “her mum is the boss”.

Old money refers to wealth that has been inherited through generations, rather than newly acquired.

There has been a fascination with distinguishing between “old” and “new” money on TikTok in recent years.

Many people are drawn to the idea of elegance and refinement associated with “old” money, believing it indicates a level of sophistication that “new” money doesn’t.

The term “old money aesthetic” has totted up an eye-watering 147.5 million views on the video sharing app.

However, not everyone was impressed by Lailli's video - with a number of critics taking to the comments to bash her.

"Not a flex," one penned.

"You look 40 spending your mums money, what?"

"She needs to work a bit harder to afford something more than basic Chanel," another remarked.

A third slammed Lailli for not "grasping the fact that some of our parents work three jobs just to feed their family".
