Hong Kong woman, 99, falls to her death while hanging laundry in 19th-floor flat

She was likely to have been doing household chores when she slipped and fell out of the window, a preliminary police investigation found. She was believed to have been hanging laundry at the time.

A police source said the woman lived with her 65-year-old son, who was not home when the accident occurred. The source said the son believed she had been hanging laundry.

Authorities previously released safety promotional material reminding the public to be careful when cleaning windows or hanging laundry.

People should not lean out of their windows or use the frames as support.

A police investigation into the incident is continuing.
