I’m 53 and spent a fortune on ineffective skincare – an ingredient finally transformed my face, no one talks about it
AN anti-aging expert revealed the holy grail ingredient she swears by for a smooth complexion.
The 53-year-old told her followers that the skincare item transformed her face that "no one talks about."
In her viral video, Sandy (@sandyknutrition) explained that she has previously had no luck with her anti-aging efforts.
She pointed out that a lot of women over 50 "spend a small fortune on really expensive anti-aging skincare and it never makes a difference."
The registered holistic nutritionist said she "didn't see a real benefit" to most of the products she tried.
However, Sandy told her viewers that she discovered "the most miraculous thing" for perfecting a smooth complexion.
She revealed to her audience that she uses estriol to combat visible signs of aging.
Estriol is a weaker form of estrogen and can be effective in controlling symptoms of menopause.
"If you’re over 50, you know that our estrogen declines and that is a massive factor in our skin," she explained.
Estriol can help minimize fine lines on the face as well as plump and tighten the skin.
The experts at Ageless and Wellness broke down the science behind the hormone.
"One of the many roles of estrogen in the body is to increase the synthesis of collagen, which is the skin’s underlying support structure," they explained.
"Restoring hormone balance can restore the body’s ability to produce collagen, which plumps your skin and helps retain its youthful appearance.
"Collagen atrophy is a major factor in skin aging, and there is a strong correlation between skin collagen loss and estrogen deficiency at menopause."
The M4 Estriol Face Cream from Alloy is available to buy for $150.
Sandy advised her audience to seek advice from their practitioners before incorporating the item into their skincare routines.
She also warned her viewers not to get confused between estriol and estradiol.
