Former World Snooker Champion Graeme Dott SUSPENDED just days before Crucible
FORMER World Snooker Champion has been suspended just days before the start of the Crucible.
The Scot, 47, won the iconic Sheffield competition in 2006.
But Dott will not be competing in this year's snooker event after he was suspended by the WPBSA.
A WPBSA statement read: "Graeme Dott has been suspended by the WPBSA due to a case which is scheduled to be heard before the High Court in Scotland.
"Whilst court proceedings are ongoing, it would be inappropriate for the WPBSA to make any further comment."
Dott's sole World Championship title came 12 years after he turned professional.

The Rangers fan also made two other finals in 2004 and 2010.
The first of those saw him lose to Ronnie O'Sullivan.
While in 2010, Dott was defeated by Neil Robertson.
But in 2006, he achieved his dream with an 18-14 win over Peter Ebdon.
It saw him bank a tasty £200,000 jackpot.
Dott and Ebdon played into the small hours, with their match officially ending at 12.52am the following morning - one of the latest World Championship final finishes ever.
Last year, Dott revealed he will consider pursuing a career in eight-ball pool when he stops playing snooker.
He said: “I used to play years ago, but I’ve found these tournaments really enjoyable.
“But to be totally honest, I was just borrowing a cue every time I’ve been to China.
"You’re not really giving yourself a chance to win titles, although I won a few matches and got to the last 32 of the most recent tournaments I played in.
“I’ve managed to get myself a cue now, so hopefully I get better.
“I’m not taking it deadly serious at the moment, it’s a bit of fun, but if I got better at it then it’s something I could definitely do more in the future if I got better at it.
“It’s something I will probably look into but, for now, I’m getting decent appearance-free money, and I want to do well, the extra prize money is of course a bonus.

“But I want to perform and, the more I play in these events, the more I think I’ll start challenging more.
“I wouldn’t play if I can’t be any good at it, for sure, I’m just too competitive for that.”
