In her video, Jamie (@wonder.full_words) explained how to make her "easy DIY heating pad."

The mom revealed that she was preparing her homemade hand warmers for her son.

"One of my kids has a swollen lymph node, it’s really bad, very painful he says," Jamie shared.

"So I looked it up and it said not to use ice but to use heat," the TikToker revealed.

The DIY enthusiast took the opportunity to demonstrate her quick trick.

Jamie began by getting a clean sock and filling it with a couple of scoops of dry rice.

"What you want to do is put this rice in there and then you tie it when you’re done, as big or small as you need," she said.

"Then you microwave it for [around] 45 seconds," she told her audience.

Jamie cautioned that adding any more time can lead to the sock feeling "a little toasty."

While the rice-filled socks can be added to coat and jacket pockets for warmth, she pointed out an additional use.

"If you want to you can wrap it around your neck," she said, demonstrating the move.

"I highly recommend it and it’s super inexpensive," Jamie concluded.

TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the hack.

"Put the sock in a cup and pull the top over the edges of the cup, [it] holds it open so the rice is easier to pour in," suggested one viewer.

"Literal life saver, thank you so much," wrote another impressed follower.

"I remember one holiday when my mom gave us rice socks with lavender as a gift, I love heat or ice socks," commented a third person.
