Emmerdale fans demand return of legendary character after years off screen saying ‘we miss her!’
EMMERDALE fans have pleaded for a legendary character to return to the Dales after 22 years away.
Actress Malandra Burrows guest starred in The Big Quiz: Coronation Street v Emmerdale last night which caused a frenzy with soap fans as they demanded for her character Kathy to return to the ITV soap.
Viewers tuned in on Thursday night for the annual soap quiz as both programmes went head-to-head.
Representing Coronation Street was Jack P. Shepherd, Channique Sterling-Brown who plays Dee-Dee Bailey and Tony Maudsley who stars as George Shuttleworth.
Their rivals were Amy Wyatt star Natalie Ann Jamieson and Kevin Mathurin (Charles Anderson) alongside their team captain Mark Charnock.
One round challenged the contestants to guess the former soap actress from a clue package that hid their face.

Team Emmerdale guessed the soap star was Malandra after analysing the clues.
The clues included four weddings rings which symbolised her four marriages and four times she changed her surname.
After they guessed correctly, Malandra appeared on set looking very glamourous.
The 58-year-old actress stunned fans in a sequin black number and curled blonde hair.
Host Stephen Mulhern asked her: "When you look back at your time in Emmerdale - good memories?"
Malandra answered: "Oh a fabulous time. I wish I could say the same for the male actors that worked with me, because they never survive, they all met untimely ends."
Stephen then asked if a return to Emmerdale was on the cards and she replied: "Never say never."
Viewers at home were thrilled to have Malandra back on their screens and pleaded she became a regular character again.
One said: "Dame MALANDRA BURROWS TALKING ABOUT RETURNING TO EMMERDALE. THIS IS THE DREAM."
Another wrote: "BRING BACK MALANDRA BURROWS! OMG OMG OMG OMG THE ONE THING THAT COULD BRING ME BACK TO EMMERDALE."
A third penned: "I miss Kathy in Emmerdale bring her back!"
A fourth added: "I'd love Malandra to return to #Emmerdale. And so would Emmerdale."
Her character Kathy left Emmerdale in December 2001 to go to Australia with her niece, Alice Bates (Rachel Tolboys), when Alice's mother Elsa Chappell (Natasha Gray) wanted her to emigrate.
Also in the programme, Channique revealed she could have actually been a permanent fixture in Emmerdale.
Stephen was the first to bring the matter up, turning to the Dee-Dee star.
Stephen said: "By the way a little birdie tells me you could have actually been on the other team."

She then revealed: "I could've been your daughter Kevin [Mathurin]," before adding: "I didn't get the job."
