Which celebs REALLY have the most desirable lips in the world & how scientific formula proves why bigger isn’t better

FROM lipsticks to glosses, and even cosmetic tweakments, the options are endless when it comes to achieving the perfect pout.

It’s little wonder the lip industry is worth over a billion pounds, as hundreds of thousands of people work on their lips to make them as desirable as possible.

A new study set out to determine the most desirable lips in the world, with researchers asking 32 participants to rate how attractive they found faces whose lips had been altered to different sizes.

On female faces, women tended to favour slightly plumped lips, whereas men showed a preference for women with naturally sized lips, like Kate Winslet, Beyoncé, and Emma Thompson.

Women, however, prefer celebrity lips similar to those of Angelina Jolie, Kylie Jenner, and Jessica Simpson.

According to experts, there’s a formula that can be followed when it comes to achieving the most perfect lips in the world, known as the ‘Golden Ratio’.

Dr Ellie Sateei, an accredited aesthetic doctor with 20 years’ experience, said: “The Golden Ratio is often discussed in beauty and aesthetics, particularly in relation to facial symmetry.

“When it comes to lips, for example, this can mean the 1:1:6 ratio – where the lower lip is slightly fuller than the upper.

“While this formula can serve as a helpful guide, it’s not a blueprint to be followed rigidly.

“Every face tells a story, and there simply isn’t a one-size-fits-all aesthetic.”

Here, Dr Ellie Sateei and aesthetics nurse Nina Prisk, who has recently been named ‘best cosmetic injector,’ take a look at the top eight female celebs and their pouts

AJ Odudu

AJ’s lips are naturally fuller with a more prominent Cupid’s bow.

Nina says: “AJ Odudu has a naturally fuller lip shape, particularly in the lower lip, which gives her a more curved lip profile.

“The volume distribution doesn’t follow the exact 1:1.618 Golden Ratio, but it suits the shape of her jaw and cheek structure.

“Her lips bring balance to her face, which is ultimately the most important thing when assessing aesthetics.”

Maura Higgins

Golden Ratio Rating: 89.6%

Maura Higgins previously admitted to having her lips done three months after coming out of Love Island

Dr Ellie says: “Maura’s lips have a strong, defined border and good volume, especially in the lower lip.

“Her ratio is a little more dramatic than golden standards, which adds to her sultry, high-glam appeal.

“A medically observant eye might notice the deviation – but to most, it’s simply a bold and beautiful pout.”

Maya Jama

Golden Ratio Rating: 89%

Maya has a near textbook example of golden ratio lips, according to Dr Ellie.

“The balance between fullness, symmetry, and shape is spot-on,” she says,

“Her lips maintain that ideal 1:1.6 proportion between the top and bottom, which likely contributes to her strong but natural aesthetic.

“A great visual example of harmony in practice.”

Kylie Jenner

Golden Ratio Rating: 88.5%

Kylie’s lips have become the most famous case study in modern aesthetics.

Nina adds: “Kylie Jenner’s lips are significantly fuller than what the Golden Ratio would define as ideal.

“However, they are also a very deliberate aesthetic choice and part of her signature look.

“While the volume is enhanced beyond the traditional proportion, the overall result still maintains facial symmetry, which is why the look works despite not aligning with the classic formula.”

Ekin-Su

Golden Ratio Rating: 86.4%

With a more pronounced top lip and a well-defined Cupid’s bow, Ekin-Su’s lip shape creates a focal point at the centre of her face

Dr Ellie says: “Ekin-Su’s lips are clearly enhanced, especially the top lip, which tends to reduce the natural 1:1.6 ratio slightly.

“While this brings her out of golden ratio territory, it’s a popular look that suits her glamorous, high-drama beauty style.

"It’s a reminder that enhancements are often a personal style choice – not just about symmetry.”

Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter's bottom lip is fuller than her top, giving her a soft and youthful appearance.

Nina says: "Her lips have a defined shape with a lower lip that’s slightly fuller than the top, which gives her a soft, youthful profile.

"While her lip proportions don’t align perfectly with the Golden Ratio, the overall effect still feels cohesive with her facial features."

Kate Middleton

Golden Ratio Rating: 82%

The Princess of Wales has lips that are "relatively close to the Golden Ratio.”

Nina says: “Kate Middleton’s lips are well balanced in proportion to the rest of her face.

“They aren’t overly full, but they align neatly with her other features, contributing to an overall sense of facial harmony.

“The ratio between her top and bottom lip is relatively close to the Golden Ratio, which helps to create that classic, symmetrical look.”

Dr Ellie adds: “Kate’s lips are a good illustration that beauty doesn’t always follow the golden ratio exactly, but works beautifully within natural variation.”

Who is the most beautiful woman in the world according to the golden ratio?

Jodie Comer has been named the most beautiful woman in the world according to the Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi, an ancient Greek calculation that measures physical perfection. Comer achieved a score of 94.52%, placing her at the top of the list. The Golden Ratio evaluates various facial features, including eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, chin, jaw, and overall facial shape, using advanced facial analysis technology.

Other celebrities who came close to Comer's score include Zendaya, who scored 94.37%, Bella Hadid with 94.35%, and Beyoncé, who achieved 92.44%. This ranking was conducted by Dr. Julian De Silva, a renowned facial cosmetic surgeon, who uses this method to help map out improvements in aesthetic procedures. The results highlight how these celebrities' facial structures align closely with the ancient Greek principles of beauty.
