Transfer news LIVE: Kyle Walker asks to LEAVE Man City, Arsenal ‘make Rashford contact’ – latest updates

  • Breaking: Walker asks to leave City

Kyle Walker has asked to leave Manchester City THIS MONTH.

City boss Pep Guardiola made the revelation after the 8-0 FA Cup win over Salford, which Walker did not feature in.

Pep said: "Well...Two days ago Kyle asked to explore the options to play abroad and end his career."

  • Rashford linked with Arsenal

Arsenal have made contact with Manchester United over a shock swoopfor Marcus Rashford.

Italian reporter Massimo Marianella told Calciomercato: “It seems that Arsenal have made a phone call to Manchester United for Rashford.

“The club has valued him at £25million.”

As it stands, SunSport understands the Gunners are not in talks over a move for Rashford and are looking at other options.

  • Cun and only

Manchester United and Arsenal target Matheus Cunha is expected to STAY at Wolves this month, SunSport can exclusively reveal.

But a January transfer move away from Molineux is still "not impossible".

SunSport can confirm both United and the Gunners are keeping tabs on the versatile forward during the winter market.

A move before transfer deadline day is not completely out of the question.

Sources, though, tell us the Brazil international would prefer to stay at Wolves and sign a new deal tying him until 2029.

  • Bade Deal

Liverpool have the chance to steal a march on Newcastle by moving for Sevilla defender Loic Bade this month, SunSport can reveal.

Both clubs have been monitoring the Frenchman, 24, for some time and reports in Spain claim they are weighing up a January swoop.

But Newcastle are understood to be unlikely to do any major deals before the window closes on February 3.

And that would leave Liverpool with a clearer run in the coming weeks at Bade, who could be available for as little as £20m.

Sevilla inserted a £50m release clause into the new contract that the centre back signed in September.

But the La Liga club’s ongoing cash problems make it hard for them to resist offers for the player.

  • 'Slight step up'

As well as describing Alexander Isak as the "perfect signing" for Manchester United, Treble winner Teddy Sheringham also gave his thoughts on another striker - Viktor Gyokeres.

But while he clearly rates the Sporting goal machine, he doesn't think United should go in for him.

He told BoyleSports: Man Utd signing Viktor Gyokeres would be harsh on Rasmus Hojlund.

"Hojlund has been feeding off scraps for the last 18 months and I think he's done very well to find himself on the score sheet in the amount of times that he has.

"Gyokeres might be a slight step up but when you go out and spend the money they did on Hojlund instead of going for Harry Kane at the time, they obviously think he's a good player.

"He's still learning his trade and he's still a young man. Gyokeres is proven in Portugal but the Premier League is a different game, especially when it comes to stepping up week in and week out.

"His confidence is high in Portugal but it would take time to adapt for him and bringing him in would also harm Hojlund’s prospects."
