I accidentally found my dream wedding dress in a charity shop – it set me back £4.60 & I didn’t care if it got filthy

FOR many brides, buying a wedding dress can be one of the most expensive parts of the day.

However, one woman revealed how she was gobsmacked after finding the dress of her dreams in a charity shop for just £4.60 - yes you heard correctly.

Megan Sara, from Australia, uploaded a video sharing how she had trawled through numerous local charity shops to find a dress for her hen do.

However, she was delighted that along the way she managed to find the perfect dress for her wedding reception.

On her @megansarathom account, she said: “Some of you may remember this journey I went on not long ago searching across what felt like every single op shop in Perth for my bachelorette party dress.

“What I didn’t tell you was I actually found a second wedding dress to wear to my wedding reception.

“Here she is.”

Megan showed how she found a jaw-droppingly gorgeous sleek dress, with a plunging back and halter straps. 

The classic, form-fitting dress suited her perfectly and was ideal for dancing after her wedding meal.

She added: “Now the cost… $9au (£4.60.)

“That doesn’t include the alterations, that’s just the cost of the op shop.

“Honestly people, go op shopping.”

Considering the average cost of a wedding dress in 2024 is £1,300 according to Bridebook, that is an incredible saving.

And the best part is that she didn’t mind if it got ruined when she was having fun, with her adding: “The bottom is absolutely filthy.”

Megan showed a clip of the dress in action at her wedding, and it looked beautiful. 

She added the caption: “I accidentally found my wedding reception dress at an OP SHOP.”

Her video has racked up over 11,000 likes, and people were very impressed.

One said: “that looks stunning what a score.”

Another added: “What a steal.”
