Bafta-winning star lands role in new TV series Robin Hood – weeks after hit period drama was brutally axed
THE story of Robin Hood is to be the latest storyline for a new TV series, which will star a Bafta award winning actor in its cast.
The new series will retell the iconic British hero story of the archer who takes from the rich and gives to the poor, all whilst battling the villainous Sheriff of Nottingham.
Sean Bean, who has also starred in films such as Lord of the Rings, will star alongside Australian newcomer Jack Patten as the famous hero.
The new series for MGM+ is being hailed as a historic retelling, and is expected to be a 10-episode series.
The new role for Bean comes as one of his recent period dramas has left fans disappointed when it was cancelled after just one series.
Shardlake on Disney+ is set during the reign of Henry VIII in the 16th century and received rave reviews from fans.
