My goal for the year is to get my hair to tickle my butt crack – making a DIY mask was my best decision yet
A DIYer longing for longer locks simply made her own magic mix.
And now she is letting others in on her secret.
"My goal this year is to get my hair to tickle my a** crack so I've been making flaxseed gel at home and it's been the best decision I ever made since rosemary mint water," said Elena Christina (@echristina13).
The hair growing sorceress explained her easy steps, the first of which included boiling water on the stove.
This was followed by adding some flaxseed.
She explained how adding a tablespoon of essential oils was optional but not necessary since the concoction didn't have any stinky odors.
Elena then used a strainer to remove excess fluids before bottling the potent DIY potion.
And there was no magic amount of mix to measure out.
"You're going to add this into your hair as much as you want. Some people do it as a deep conditioning mask. Unlike me, I use it everyday in my hair to give it some nutrition," she said.
Her main ingredient was also affordable.
Spectrum organic ground flaxseed sells for $7.49 on Amazon and is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, crucial for nourishing hair follicles and maintaining growth.
Elena, who has proven that the best things are made at home, was certainly making the most of her treatment that she said can last for up to two weeks in the fridge.
"This is now my gel from now on, and it's really going to make me reach my hair goal," said the hair whisperer as she scrunched her now long locks.
Some of her fans had questions of their own.
"How long do I leave it on the stove boiling? And how because I just made it for the first time and it was so hard to strain like I grew muscles," joked this curious follower.
"The longer it cooks, the more slime like it becomes. It takes about five to seven minutes after it starts to boil," she replied.
"Does this work better than rosemary and mint oil?" asked this viewer.
"Possibly because it’s natural," answered Elena.
Others couldn't stop praising the trick - for more than one reason.
"My favorite thing," said this enthused follower.

"How does it make your hair feel because I’m not interested in hair growth, but I am interested in making my hair feel nicer," shared this viewer.
"It feels soft - if you add too much it’ll be crunchy," she replied.
