Netflix plans rival to BBC’s The Traitors as they hunt reality stars for brand new twist on murder mystery gameshow
NETFLIX aim to beat BBC bosses at their own game by bringing out a celebrity version of The Traitors before them.
Insiders revealed the streaming giant was working on a show inspired by the back-stabbing “murder” contest, with famous faces playing for £1million.
We previously revealed the Corporation is creating a celebrity spin-off next year.
But a source said: “Netflix are working with a British production company for their version of The Traitors for celebrities.
“They are casting British and American reality TV stars, with a £1million prize.
“They’ll go to a really exotic location overseas.

“Netflix always puts on big budget, slick shows and they think this could be a huge ratings winner.
“It’ll no doubt annoy the BBC, with their celeb version not yet off the ground.”
The Traitors, hosted by Claudia Winkleman on the Beeb, has become a huge hit.
Claudia won a string of awards for the show last year, including wins at the National Television Awards, the TV Baftas and the Royal Television Society awards.
More than six million viewers watched each episode of the latest series.
Among the names likely to be targeted for the BBC series are Wagatha Christie rivals Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy, former Health Secretary Matt Hancock and outspoken Match of the Day host Gary Lineker.
