I paid 34 cents for jewelry at a yard sale – it sells for over 1,000x as much, the magnet test proved they’re real
A FASHIONISTA with a keen eye for a bargain was delighted when she found luxury jewelry at a yard sale.
She shared a photo of her enviable purchase before using clever cleaning methods to improve their condition.
She took to Reddit’s Thrift Store Hauls forum to rave about her budget-friendly find.

The now-deleted user said she paid just 34 cents for Tiffany & Co. earrings.
“They retail for $430!!!” she said.
“I gave them a quick rinse in some saline and a good scrub with some Qtips and a polishing cloth and they’ve cleaned up a bit,” she added.
“I’m just excited about a unique and very cheap thrift find honestly.”
The thrifty shopper said she was at a community yard sale when she found the earrings.
She proved those who were skeptical about their authenticity wrong.
“I tried a magnet on them and they’re 100% silver at the very least!” she said.
“They’re my best find in a while, I’m so stoked!”
Elsa Peretti Circle Earrings in sterling silver are currently $450 at Tiffany & Co.

Many people confessed they were envious of the Redditor’s affordable find.

“These are so simple and timeless, yet unique with their shape. Great find!!!” another commented.
“Lucky u!!!!” a third chimed in.

When is the best time to go thrifting
According to Goodwill, Monday and Tuesday are the best days to go thrifting because of two reasons:
- Employees have restocked shelves after receiving donations over the weekend
- Stores are less busy than at the weekend.
According to pre-owned sellers The Luxury Hut, authentic jewelry from Tiffany & Co. has the brand “perfectly” engraved as well as the metal’s purity mark.
Another factor to examine is how “PLEASE RETURN TO” is stamped on the item as counterfeit items usually have the phrase written without any spaces.
Tiffany & Co. recommends only purchasing merchandise from their list of authorized sellers to ensure genuine items.
The Redditor’s excitement comes after a TikToker found a bracelet from a luxury brand for $4 at a thrift store.
