Murtough continued at the fans' forum to say that January business is not off the cards.

  • UK government to prevent super league

The UK government will be legislating to introduce a football regulator that “will stop clubs from joining any similar breakaway competitions in the future,” despite the European Court of Justice ruling that UEFA/FIFA rules blocking the ESL are unlawful.

Manchester United have already confirmed that they will not be joining the super league and they remain "fully committed" to Uefa.

  • Premier League's Super League statement

The Premier League have released a statement regarding the Super League.

It reads: "The Premier League notes today’s judgment in the European Court of Justice case involving the "European Superleague Company", FIFA and UEFA.  This is a significant ruling and we will now fully examine its implications for the game.

"The ruling does not endorse the so-called "European Super League" and the Premier League continues to reject any such concept. Supporters are of vital importance to the game and they have time and again made clear their opposition to a "breakaway" competition that severs the link between domestic and European football.

"The Premier League reiterates its commitment to the clear principles of open competition that underpin the success of domestic and international club competitions.

"Football thrives on the competitiveness created by promotion and relegation, the annual merit-based qualification from domestic leagues and cups to international club competitions and the longstanding rivalries and rituals that come with weekends being reserved for domestic football.

"These principles are enshrined in the Premier League Owners’ Charter, introduced in June 2022, which aims to improve the collective strength and competitiveness of the League in the best interests of the wider game.

"Since 2021, the Premier League, alongside other football bodies, has also strengthened its rules and governance in this area.

"The Premier League will continue to engage in an open and constructive dialogue, with all relevant football stakeholders, on how best to protect and enhance the complementary balance of domestic and international club football."

  • Keane banned from Xmas

Roy Keane has hilariously revealed he was once BANNED from a Manchester United Christmas party.

That’s after falling foul of Sir Alex Ferguson, who sent out a brutal warning to the rest of the dressing room.

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Keane revealed how he went out with United’s reserves for a night on the tiles.

Keane told Gary Neville, Jill Scott, Ian Wright and Jamie Carragher: “I got banned from the Manchester United Christmas party one year.

“I must’ve been injured, and the reserve team were having a night out and I went out with them and I think there was a bit of bother in Manchester.

“The first team lads were going out a couple days later and Sir Alex Ferguson came in, in front of everyone, and said that if anyone was seen drinking with me that day, they would get fined.

“The players were worried about getting fined by the manager, so I ended up going out by myself – I had a Christmas party by myself.”

  • Ince gives prediction

Paul Ince has predicted Manchester United to draw against West Ham.

He told DAZN Bet: "West Ham are tough to beat – we saw that yesterday against Wolves. They're a good side with Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen, and Lucas Paqueta all playing well.

"Bowen is, for me, one of the best players in the Premier League and he doesn't get the credit he deserves. He scores goals, his work-rate is tireless, and he's a top player.

"West Ham have a good squad. I don't think we'll see Man United repeat the performance at Anfield where they parked the bus. I think they'll set up differently and try to win the game.

"West Ham play a certain way. Some fans moan about it and want Man City-style football. Not every team can play like that, though, and Moyes plays a certain way. He won them a European trophy, so the style of play works for him and it works for the players.

"Moyes' set-up won't change. Man United will probably have lots of the ball, and Moyes will look to counter as the game goes on. I can see how the game will play out. West Ham will be off as soon as the ball is turned over, and set-pieces will be a major era for them with James Ward-Prowse and Tomas Soucek up there.

"I think it'll be a 2-2 draw. I can see West Ham scoring from a set-piece or hitting them on the break. I'll go for 2-2. That's not me sitting on the fence, I think it's a realistic answer."

  • Onana 'will come good'

Paul Ince has also claimed that Andre Onana will come good at Manchester United.

He told DAZN Bet: "Onana was always a 'keeper who was very good with his feet. He could also make very good saves, but people need to understand that the pressure at Man United is ten-fold. He started in OK form, but the pressure got to him after he made one or two mistakes – and we can see that in his form now.

"Some players take a few months to adjust, some take a year, and others never live up to the standards, pressure, and expectations of the fans. I think Onana has to get past that. The opposition fans always hound him when he's on the ball, but that's the pressure you have to deal with.

"That pressure will always be there and players have to perform every week. It's no good having one good game – the fans want at least a 7/10 performance every week. Onana is the last line of defence, and any mistake he makes will most likely result in a goal.

"Andre Onana is still young and he'll get through it. This phase of his career will provide valuable experience for him. It's not just him, either, as the goalkeeper is only as good as the defence he has in front of him. That's why he looked so good at Inter and why he didn't have so much to do. Man United are conceding a lot of goals and a lot of shots like we saw last night. They're not protecting him enough, and there lies the problem.

"It's a good learning curve for him and I think he'll get through it as he's a very good goalkeeper. He'll improve what he's doing, but I don't want him to completely change how he plays. Every player goes through bad times, and it's magnified even more due to him playing in goal."

  • United statement on Super League

Manchester United have released a statement regarding the Super League.

The Red Devils have insisted that they remain "fully commited" to Uefa.

The statement read: "Our position has not changed.

"We remain fully committed to participation in UEFA competitions, and to positive cooperation with UEFA, the Premier League, and fellow clubs through the ECA on the continued development of the European game."

  • United suggested striker move

Paul Ince has claimed that Manchested United should rival Liverpool for Lautaor Martinez and Victor Osimhen.

He told DAZN Bet: "Lautaro Martinez and Victor Osimhen would be two players who have been looked at by Premier League teams – particularly Osimhen, whose relationship with the Napoli owners has become a bit fragmented.

"Darwin Nunez and Rasmus Hojlund aren't clinical finishers. Martinez and Osimhen are.

"Domenico Berardi would also be fantastic in the Premier League. Man Utd don't have an identified striker at the moment as Martial, Rashford, and Hojlund have hardly scored this season! You need a striker who'll get you at least 25 goals a season if you want to seriously challenge for trophies.

"Rashford achieved that last season by scoring 31 goals and it resulted in United getting a Champions League place. That's how important a clinical scorer is.

"I'd say Nicolo Barella would also be a great fit. United need someone like him in midfield."

  • Mainoo over Amrabat?

With Manchester United now expected to turn down their option to sign Softyan Amrabat, SunSport takes a look at one possible replacement.
