I showed my mom my bald spot -she was so adamant I try an at-home remedy and promised it made my uncle’s hair grow back
SIPPING cocktails probably won't help you grow longer locks.
But one woman said her mom's tip for filling in bald patches just requires a bit of booze.
Louie (@dewylouie) shared her beauty advice with over 130,000 TikTok followers.
She said she was complaining about an annoying hair issue when her mom urged her to try an unconventional at-home remedy.
"So I showed my mom my bald spot and she was like, try this," she said, holding up a bottle of brandy.
At first, Louie was reluctant and confused but her mom insisted that the alcohol would help.
"She was like, 'Just take a little and tap it on your bald spot and in two weeks, your hair will start to grow back,'" she said.
Her mom explained that her uncle tried the trick out for himself when he was balding.
"I haven't seen this uncle for 10 years so I don't know if his hair actually grew back," she admitted.
Louie, however, was open to trying to hack regardless, taking cotton applicators and dabbing the alcohol on her scalp.
People took to the comments to share their thoughts on her at-home remedy.
Many were surprisingly receptive to the advice.
"Me and my edges are about to be drinking partners," said one commenter.
Others gave their testimonial for the unconventional hair treatment.
"My papaw uses moonshine as shampoo, he’s almost 90 with a full head of hair and no dandruff," said one commenter.
"Slavic girl here…Rakija is Slavic for moonshine, closest would be whisky or brandy, so sounds about right what your mom suggested," said another.
