Mould grows by producing tiny particles called spores - these are air-bound and can grow quickly in your home.
The NHS states damp and mould in your home you're more likely to have respiratory problems, respiratory infections, allergies or asthma.
Damp and mould can also affect the immune system.
Keep it breezy
Taking to Reddit the cleaning whizz revealed that it was all about ventilation.
They wrote: "You see a lot of comments about ventilation, that's the answer to the moisture.
"Also make it a habit to clean the window sill weekly with a 2% bleach solution (1/2 gal water, 1/8 cup bleach, 2 tsp dish soap = Mould remover) Spray, wipe clean and let dry."
They revealed this solution should get rid of any mould that has already built up as well as s top it from growing back.
Others claimed it was easy to keep condensation at bay by using a dehumidifier or keeping the windows open.
"Open the window some when cooking; you'll get some cold air coming in but it will have less humidity than what's in the house," one suggested.
"You can run a dehumidifier also, but you'll need to empty a bucket now and then."
Block it out
You can also stop the moisture from building up on the actual window to keep mould away.
They also recommended using window insulation film which you can buy for just £10 from Dunelm.
"If that fails, you can try and put some plastic sheeting over the windows, sealed at the edges to keep the humid air away from the window," the cleaning pro added.
