Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Osimhen ‘price revealed’, £40m Delap becomes top target, United ‘eye £62.5m Cunha’

  • Rio rejects Keane's 'wild' derby criticism

Rio Ferdinand disagrees with fellow Manchester United legend Roy Keane's scathing verdict on Sunday's 0-0 derby draw.

United had the better chances in a tame Prem stalemate at home to Pep Guardiola's stuttering Man City.

Keane rebuffed claims it was a "good point" for the Red Devils - because he reckons that shows how far standards have dropped.

But Ferdinand turned that view around - suggesting a draw was satisfactorily precisely due to United not being as good as they were.

The former England defender told his YouTube channel: “The expectations that Roy is talking about there is the Man Utd he played in where a 0-0 draw at home against anybody is unacceptable.

This team aren’t there, at that place.

“They got beat by Notts Forest last week so to think that you’re going to beat Man City or expecting to beat them is wild to me. It’s not realistic. Four points off City this season. We’ve overachieved.”

  • United linked to Atalanta ace

Manchester United's search for a new anchorman could turn to Atalanta.

The Red Devils are reportedly keen on three-cap Brazilian Ederson.

GIVEMESPORT say club chiefs believe the 25-year-old fits the profile for a defensive midfielder - as a younger version of his compatriot Casemiro.

But it's also reckoned Ederson will be keen to play European football next season.

  • Red Devils tipped to consider Everton striker

Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be a surprise Manchester United target.

That's according to TBR, who reckon the Red Devils are pondering a free transfer approach for the striker this summer.

It's reckoned a string of clubs are looking at Calvert-Lewin’s situation.

The 28-year-old has endured a spluttering season at Goodison Park, not helped by injuries.

Old Trafford chief Ruben Amorim might fancy a more traditional frontman - at least as back-up.

  • 'De Gea return claim' played down

Astonishing suggestions that Manchester United will try to re-sign David De Gea have been played down.

It was claimed last week the Red Devils would consider attempting to lure back the 34-year-old keeper from Fiorentina.

But transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reckons it's unlikely.

The Spanish stopper shone at Old Trafford from 2011-2023.

But Romano posted on X: “Fiorentina are set to activate the option to extend David de Gea’s contract for one more season.

"After excellent performances this season, de Gea’s contract will now be valid until June 2026.”

  • Red Devils linked to Udinese ace

Udinese star Lorenzo Lucca has emerged as a prime candidate as Manchester United plan for a cost-efficient summer refit.

And Lucca, who stands at 6ft 7in, is said to cost a mere £25million this summer.

The striker has amassed 12 goals in 33 appearances and earned an Italy call-up.

And the Italian appears to have a soft spot for United as he grew up with posters of club legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic on his wall.

  • 'Best news is Rashford is smiling again'

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery claims Marcus Rashford has rediscovered his love for the game.

Goals and assists are now flowing on loan for Rashford, who has also earned an England recall following his loan move from Manchester United.

Emery said: "!He is a good guy – humble, a very good professional, and he is really happy with his team-mates.

"‘He is being demanding on himself and with everything we want to work on with him, with the team.

‘He is playing free, he feels comfortable and this is the most important thing.

"We try to connect with him as a person first of all, and afterwards as a player.

‘His process here is getting better, playing in two different positions. He started with us as a left-winger and now he is playing more as a striker.

‘There is still work to do but the most important thing is his feeling. We are seeing him smiling and it is the best news we can have."

  • Osimhen back on the Prem menu

Victor Osimhen is again being talked up for a summer switch to the Prem.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been mentioned in connection with the Galatasaray loanee.

And it's suggested the 26-year-old is likely to depart parent club Napoli this summer.

Galatasaray are thought to be out of the running for a permanent deal.

Instead Napoli hope to receive around £55million for the Nigerian.

It's also claimed Osimhen has already decided he wants to join a Prem team next.

  • Scholes fears Mainoo & Garnacho exit

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes reckons co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe will sell Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho in the summer transfer window.

Scholes told Premier League Productions: “It has to be a major concern.

    Credit: Getty

“Where’s the money coming from for new signings? We saw those interviews with Sir Jim and they didn’t make good reading.

“It doesn’t look like Ruben Amorim will get a war chest to go to war with. It doesn’t feel like that.

“I get the impression, and I could be wrong, but I think they might sell the two young players. I think they might sell Mainoo and Garnacho.

“Maybe they sell them this summer. The Mainoo one would hurt. They both would. Garnacho came later but Mainoo has been at the club since he was a kid.

“He had a brilliant season last year and it makes the academy system look bad if a player like him can’t make it and they have to sell him.

“I hope I’m wrong, I hope they don’t do that, but the noises I hear, it is a big concern.”

  • Sporting star is 'United back-up plan'

Manchester United chief Ruben Amorim will consider returning to Sporting Lisbon for Portugal winger Francisco Trincao.

That's the claim of GIVEMESPORT, who reckon Trincao will be a prime target if United lose out in the race for Wolves' Matheus Cunha.

It's thought the ex-Barcelona wideman, 25, has a release clause of around £67million.

  • Maianoo blow

Kobbie Mainoo could be about to make his first Manchester United appearance since February.

The teenager has been sidelined for over 6 weeks due to a muscular problem.

Mainoo missed the Manchester derby last weekend but could be in the squad to take on Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday.

Boss Ruben Amorim confirmed: “Kobbie Mainoo is training with us.

“We want to be careful, again, with our players, but maybe he’s going to be in our squad.”

  • Ex-United chief linked to Brazil job

Jose Mourinho has been tipped to take over as manager of Brazil by local reports.

The Portuguese boss is currently in charge of Fenerbahce - the 11th job of his career.

    Credit: Getty

He has overseen 30 wins in 48 games but looks set to miss out on the Super Lig title to rivals Galatasaray.

Mourinho has made no secret of his desire to manage at international level and reiterated that aspiration in December.

His dream could come true soon amid reports linking him with the Brazil job.

Mourinho is part of a four-man shortlist for the role, claim Globo.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is also on Brazil's wishlist and remains their dream appointment, according to the report.

While Jorge Jesus and Abel Ferreira - two more Portuguese managers - are of interest.

  • Red Devils 'step up hunt for 2 Arsenal targets'

Manchester United are tipped to open talks over recruiting Matheus Cunha - but Ipswich's Liam Delap remains their main target.

Both strikers have also been linked to Arsenal.

But GIVEMESPORT claim the Red Devils are close to launching negotiations with Cunha's representatives.

The 13-cap Brazilian, 25, has grown in prominence for Wolves since arriving from Atletico Madrid in 2023, although disciplinary problems have cast a shadow this season.

Until now, the Gunners have been rated Cunha's biggest admirers.

But United are rated the clear frontrunners for English ace Delap, 22.

Old Trafford boss Ruben Amorim has seen big-money recruits Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggle up front.

And it's reckoned a reliable new frontman is a summer priority for Amorim as well as Arsenal chief Mikel Arteta.

  • Ex-Utd superstar tipped for Wrexham

Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 43, has been tipped to join Wrexham.

The Swedish legend, who played for Juventus, PSG Inter and AC Milan, retired in 2023 after surgery for an ACL knee injury.

    Credit: PA:Press Association

The 122-cap hero did return to fitness but bowed out with Milan after becoming Serie A's oldest ever goalscorer.

Now ex- Premier League forward Matt Jansen believes Ibrahimovic could be an option for Wrexham, who are pressing for promotion to the Championship under the ownership of Hollywood A-listers Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Jansen told Fruity King: "It would probably suit Zlatan Ibrahimovic, although he retired.

"But money talks and they’ve certainly got it. It would be Hollywood and he’d enjoy it, wouldn’t he?

"It would certainly be that type, or a big target man like Chris Wood maybe, although he's not going to leave Nottingham Forest.

"Anything's possible with Wrexham and they've got the backing. With the media around them, they've got the idea of what they want to do."

  • United legend rated contender for Saints job

Ex-Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is regarded as an outside bet to become Southampton's next manager.

Saints' boss Ivan Juric is exiting after their relegation back to the Championship was confirmed this week - embarrassingly early in the season.

Sheffield Wednesday chief Danny Rohl is the odds-on tip with Betfair to take ovee at Southampton, followed by former Everton manager Sean Dyche.

But Middlesbrough boss Carrick, 43, and ex-England boss Gareth Southgate - who was previously linked with the United boss - are also mentioned in the odds.

    LATEST ODDS:
    Danny Rohl 7/10
    Sean Dyche 17/2 (was 14/1)
Frank Lampard, Steve Cooper, Liam Rosenior 10/1
    Simon Rusk 11/1
    Kasper Hjulmand 12/1
    David Wagner, Gary O’Neil 16/1
    Gareth Southgate, Michael Carrick 20/1

  • Obi won great praise

Manchester United fans were in ecstasy after Chido Obi's wondergoal for the Under-21s.

Obi, 17, joined the United academy from Arsenal last summer and has already broken into Ruben Amorim's first team this season.

Obi came off the bench against Tottenham, Everton and Leicester in the Premier League - and Fulham in the FA Cup.

But he was back in Premier League 2 action for the U21s on Monday.

Obi scored twice - including a stunning solo goal - in a 3-3 draw against Nottingham Forest to take his tally across the Premier League 2, FA Youth Cup and U18 Premier League to 14 in 13 games.

It didn't take long for United fans to flood social media, one saying: "We made the right decision snatching him from Arsenal. Serious talent."

Another wrote: "That is absolutely ridiculous, abnormally good. U21 football or not."

A third added: "This is a ridiculous goal." A fourth commented: "Simply too good for that level." And a since-deleted tweet labelled Obi the "best striker at the club".

  • Rio urged Red Devils to sign Rice

Rio Ferdinand has revealed he advised insiders at Manchester United to sign Declan Rice ‘at all costs’ before he moved to Arsenal.

He said: “Declan Rice didn’t make a choice [between Manchester United and Arsenal,’ Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel. ‘Man United didn’t bid for him.

“United f***d that s*** up. They f***d that one up because I wanted Declan and I advised a couple of people there to get Declan at all costs.

“And they didn’t even bid. They didn’t even bid. He’s the man, I love him. I would have taken him.”

  • Wolf at the door

Wolves star Matheus Cunha is reportedly a target for Manchester United.

Arsenal have also been eyeing up the midfielder, who has a release clause of £62million.

talkSPORT claim Cunha's representatives are set for talks with United over a possible summer move.

Cunha has 25 goals over his last 58 Premier League games, along with 11 assists.

  • Utd escape Foden punishment

The FA will reportedly not take action against Manchester United fans after their vile abuse of Phil Foden.

Foden's mum Claire Rowlands was the subject of sick chants during Sunday's Manchester derby, which ended 0-0.

Throughout the game, sections of the Old Trafford faithful sung about the City and England star.

The Mail claim the FA are aware of the chants and condemn them.

However, United will escape punishment as the abuse does not breach their regulations.

  • Man Utd confirm friendlies

Manchester United will jet to Asia straight after their final Premier League game for two post-season friendlies.

Ruben Amorim's side will make a 15-hour, 6,600 mile trip to Malaysia after concluding their Prem campaign on May 25.

The Red Devils have announced that they will play an ASEAN All Stars side in Kuala Lumpur on May 28.

United stars will then jet 1,500 miles to Hong Kong for a match against their national team just two days later.

It's believed that the trip will make the club around £8million.

  • Rashford almost joined PSG

Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford almost joined Paris Saint-Germain before his loan move to Aston Villa… and is still in talks with Wednesday's Champions League opponents.

According to L'Equipe, Rashford came extremely close to a move to PSG in the summer of 2022.

In fact, the Parisians wanted the star forward to come in and replace Neymar in the starting line-up.

At least three meetings took place between the club and the Engfland international's entourage.

Talks went so well with then sporting director Leonardo that the 27-year-old gave the "green light" for a move to Ligue 1 but a deal fell apart in May of that year after PSG axed the Brazilian chief.

Nevertheless, the same source reports talks have been revived between the Man Utd ace and Leonardo's replacement Luis Campos.

  • Paul Scholes call

A Manchester United star rang club legend Paul Scholes and tried to confront him at the training ground over his negative TV comments.

Asked whether players react to comments made by pundits, Scholes revealed on The Overlap Fan Debate via Sky Bet one unnamed United ace took matters into his own hands.

Players can be a little bit touchy these days. I had a player this year, who contacted me and wasn’t happy with some of the things I’d said.

He wanted to meet me at the training ground. I said, 'Of course, no problem,' and gave him my number but he never got back to me.

I would have done it. If I’m saying things I believe and he wants me to explain why, it wouldn’t have been a nice conversation.

But I said if they or anyone else has a problem, there’s my phone number.

    Paul Scholes
  • Delap now a top target

Manchester United have made Ipswich Town star Liam Delap their top target for the summer transfer window.

United have identified Delap, 22, as their preferred option up top ahead of Sporting Lison's Viktor Gyokeres, RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Napoli's Victor Osimhen, who's on loan at Galatasaray.

The Ipswich striker has emerged as a favourite amongst the hierarchy at Old Trafford as manager Ruben Amorim prepares to be backed financially in the summer.

The England Under-21 international , who has scored 12 goals in 30 Premier League appearances, is thought to be available for £40million if his team gets relegated.

  • Fan forced to surrender seat

A loyal Manchester United fan has been forced to give up his Old Trafford seat of 45 years to make way for corporate hospitality.

Michael Carney, 81, has followed United through thick and thin - from the Busby Babes and the Holy Trinity of George Best, Bobby Charlton and Denis Law to the 1999 Treble and today's lows.

However, the club are taking the longtime fan's seat away and are forcing him to move from his spot in the lower section of the Sir Bobby Charlton stand.

Carney was among the die-hard Man Utd fans who received a season ticket renewal letter that informed them their seats will be converted to hospitality sectors this summer.

  • Emmanuel Petit EXCLUSIVE

Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit urged Manchester United to take serious action against the fans who subjected Manchester City star Phil Foden to vile chants during the derby.

Petit told SunSport, on behalf of William Hill:

Sometimes [they chant about] your mother, children [or about] your father who is dead. If I am Manchester United, I would be very hard on my own fans. I will say zero tolerance.

You know you did that. We got the images. We have the proof you’ve done that. You’re out of the game, you’re out of the stadium.

You don’t come back. We don’t need you. We don’t want you back in the stadium. You are not the fans we want.

So that, for me, is very simple with everything there is – there is cameras everywhere. We know who do that. So it’s very simple to take action from that.

    Emmanuel Petit
