CORONATION Street’s Roy Cropper has been banged up and left terrified in a prison cell.
The cafe owner - who is played by actor David Neilson in the ITV soap - has been officially charged with murdering Lauren Bolton after an incident with a deranged amateur detective.
Snoop Alice pretended to be Lauren’s estranged mother to con her way into Roy’s home.
She filmed him and posted it all over her blog, before being rumbled when Lauren’s real mother called Roy.
Roy kicked her out but she later returned to confront him by goading him about his late wife Hayley.
Losing it, Roy grabbed her phone to stop her filming it and as she lunged to get it back she fell, hitting her head.

DS Swain questioned Roy about the incident with Alice, and he told her that he didn’t attack her.
But when she went through everything Alice had done - conning her way into his home, filming him sleeping, suggesting he murdered Hayley - it didn’t look good.
And then she brought up him attacking Gary Windass with a cricket bat previously having caught him snooping in the cafe.
It didn’t look good for Roy - and he was worried about what would happen.
And he turned out to be correct with just Dee Dee returning to the cafe for the waiting women in Roy’s life.
She told Nina, Carla, Evelyn and Shona that Roy had been refused bail.
“That’s insane,” said Carla. But Dee Dee had worse news to come.
“It’s not ABH. Roy’s bail was conditional on him committing no further offences.
“The police and the CPS have just been waiting to pull the trigger and this latest incident passes something called the threshold test.”
Evelyn interrupted to say: “Can we just have this in plain English please? What have they charged Roy with?”
“Murder,” replied Dee Dee.
“They’ve charged him with Lauren’s murder.”
