Michael McIntyre accused of breaking BBC rules over AJ Odudu ‘plugs’ on BBC1’s Big Show
MICHAEL McIntyre’s Big Show bosses could be rapped for allowing AJ Odudu to “plug” a phone firm whose adverts she’s featured in.
The Big Brother co-host was the face of Google Pixel mobiles from 2022 to 2023.
Last year AJ, 35, also recorded the episode of the BBC show, which aired at the weekend, where she gave her phone to Michael, 47, for the “Send to All” feature.
During the segment Michael commented it was not an Apple iPhone that the former Strictly star owner.
AJ confirmed it was a Google Pixel, and said she had owned an iPhone but complained that it was too fragile.
She claimed: “Five times in one week I dropped my phone and smashed it. It was five consecutive days in a row and I thought ‘I can’t have this’.”

AJ said the Pixel was “sturdier” and showed it off by throwing it from the box in the theatre where the show is filmed and Michael caught it.
Viewers at home couldn’t help but notice the apparent plug by AJ, who co-hosts Celebrity Big Brother on ITV next month.
One wrote on X: “AJ does a television commercial for the Google Pixel phone.
“This is on the BBC. What’s all that about?”
Another wrote: “AJ Odudu spoke about her Google Pixel phone being better than an iPhone for about a minute.
“Clearly against their guidelines … interested to see what they say as we were agog!”
The BBC has to adhere to strict guidelines prohibiting the promotion of products on their shows, whether it’s done blatantly or subtly.
