‘Saved my life’ praise drivers over secret button that turns off car alarm without having to use your key fob

DRIVERS have hailed a "God send" trick to turn off their car alarm when their key fob is broken.

In a video posted on YouTube by @checkitout2468, this motor whizz revealed a simple way to silence your alarm.

He said: "I bought this car used and there's an alarm system in it, I didn't even know it had one.

"There are two things you need to find, a switch on the left hand side of the pedals, or it could be tucked up above them, maybe on the right side too.

"The second thing is a light on your dash, mine is white, but when the alarm turns on it's red."

The car guru explained how you need to insert your key and turn it into the second position after closing all your doors.

"Then, push the secret button, count to five, take the key out, and the red light will be out," he added.

People who had tried and tested the genius trick hailed the advice.
