Juventus contact City over Phillips deal

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Juventus have made first contacts with Man City over a deal for Kalvin Phillips in January.

The England international has struggled for game time since joining the Cityzens from Leeds and is looking to move on.

Romano has claimed that Phillips will leave the Etihad in the winter window with Juventus pushing to make a deal happen.

The 28-year-old is understood to be keen to start playing more regular football in order to cement his place in Gareth Soutgate's England squad for the Euros in Germany this summer.

Man City are said to be trying to negotiate a loan with an obligation to purchase Phillips in the summer, while Juventus are keen on a buy option rather than a mandatory deal.

Toney could leave Brentford 'very shortly'

Brentford chief Lee Dykes has admitted that Ivan Toney could leave the club "very shortly".

Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with the England striker with the striker who is expected to be valued at around £80million.

United to pass on Amrabat transfer

Man Utd are unlikely to keep Sofyan Amrabat at the end of the season, SunSport has learned.

Erik Ten Hag is “already planning” for the player to return to Italy in the Summer.

Sources at Old Trafford say there is widespread concern that Amrabat isn’t suited to the Premier League.

An insider said: “Amrabat is very unlikely to stay at Manchester United after the Summer. They have an option to make the deal a permanent one, but as things stand the manager is not making plans to do that.

“There’s no doubt that Amrabat is a good player, but there are question marks against whether he is the right fit for the Premier League.

“He did very well in Italy but the pace of the game is very different and this is an area where he has struggled since arriving at United.

“There may well be interest from other clubs in Europe but as things stand he won’t be staying at United.”

Varane eyed for Madrid return

Raphael Varane could be on his way back to Real Madrid in the January transfer window.

The Los Blancos were hit with an injury blow at the weekend when David Alaba was on the receiving end of a horror tackle on Sunday.

And now BILD are reporting that Madrid are interested in bringing Varane back to the Spanish capital as a replacement for the injured Swiss international.

Varane has been struggling for form and game time under Erik ten Hag this season and some reports have suggested he may be available in the winter window.

Sancho offered RB Leipzig lifeline

RB Leipzig are reportedly interested in signing Jadon Sancho from Manchester United.

The 23-year-old has been exiled from the United squad in September following a public war-of-words with manager Erik ten Hag.

The club are understood to be keen to offload him in January with ten Hag steadfast on his plans to keep him away from the team.

And according to German outlet BILD, RB Leipzig are interested.

Despite Man Utd being willing to let Sancho leave for a fraction of the £73million fee they paid for him in 2021, his £350,000-a-week wages are understood to be a problem for RB Leipzig.

Arsenal set Nketiah asking price

Arsenal have reportedly set a lofty asking price for Eddie Nketiah which could deter potential suitors.

The England international has been the subject of plenty of interest ahead of the January transfer window.

But those interested will have to fork out at least £50million according to 90min.

The Gunners are said to be keen to keep hold of the 24-year-old, who has scored five goals in the Premier League this term.

And despite interest from elsewhere, Nketiah is also understood to be happy to stay at the Emirates Stadium and is not pushing for an exit

Deeney named Forest Green manager

Troy Deeney has been appointed Forest Green Rovers boss in his first managerial role.

The Watford legend was confirmed as the club’s new manager following the departures of David Horseman and Louis Carey.

He had joined the club as a player-coach in the summer but will now takeover as head coach with immediate effect, a statement announced

Newcastle are doing all they can to keep hold of their rising star Lewis Miley.

The 17-year-old has caught the eye since breaking into Eddie Howe's team on Tyneside.

And according to The Telegraph, the Magpies have now opened talks with Miley over a new long-term deal.

It's expected the deal will be signed when the youngster turns 18 in May this year.

Tottenham have opened talks with OCG Nice to sign defender Jean Clair Todibo, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Frenchman has been monitored by Spurs and the London club would be looking to get a deal done in January.

Manchester United are also understood to be interested in Todibo, but are set for a quiet winter window.

Spanish giants ready for active January window

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are prepared to dip into their funds to strengthen their squads in January.

Carlo Ancelotti has told the media that if the opportunity arises, Madrid will act.

He said: "If there’s a chance to sign a good player for Real Madrid and to help for this season, we will make it happen."

While Barcelona boss Xavi has said that his team will have to act in order to replace injured star Gavi.

He said: "We always want to reinforce the pieces we are missing. With Gavi's injury we need a player with that profile, it’s clear."

Villa to discuss Lenglet exit

Aston Villa are reportedly set to discuss the potential of an early exit for Clement Lenglet in January.
