My DIY hair mask only uses a single $2 ingredient – thanks Mother Nature, it makes your locks super smooth and silky
A DIY hair mask using a single ingredient is going to set you back just $2.
It will be a sound investment because this treatment is going to make your locks super smooth and silky.
Low Waste Living (@Owastecleaning) is quick to thank Mother Nature for the exotic plant used in her hair mask.
It has been used for centuries for its healing properties.
Once the gel-like substance is extracted it has several uses.
But this Canadian lady likes to use it in her beauty regime.
“How to make a natural hair mask using only one ingredient," she said in her post.
“For super silky and shiny hair. All you are going to need is aloe vera.
“It helps hydrate and repair your skin and hair," she added.
“It’s the purest most natural form."
First, she prepared her hair mask by peeling the aloe and cutting off both ends.
“We peel off the skin and scoop out all the gooey stuff," she said.
She put it into a bowl and gave it a quick blend to make the application easier.
“You can apply that directly to your hair.
“Leave it for at least 30 minutes just to let it soak into your hair.”
She showed her before and after pictures and there was a marked difference in texture.
Experts at Healthline said aloe vera contains vitamins A, C, and E.
"All three of these vitamins contribute to cell turnover, promoting healthy cell growth and shiny hair," they said.
"Vitamin B12 and folic acid are also contained in aloe vera gel. Both of these components can keep your hair from falling out.
"When your scalp has been cleansed and your hair has been conditioned with aloe vera, you might see that hair breakage and loss slows down," they added.
