Duran Duran star Simon Le Bon wins war with neighbours after row over plans for swimming pool
DURAN Duran star Simon Le Bon has won his battle with neighbours to build a pool house at his £5million home.
The 80s heartthrob and supermodel wife Yasmin landed in hot water with locals when they dug up their back garden to make way for a huge 50x13 ft pool.
Now they want to splash out on a 26x14ft 'garden room' but riled residents objected, fearing noisy pool parties and flooding.
They also went off the deep end over builders blocking the road near the couple's home in south London.
But officials at the local council have now given the go-ahead after the previous objections dried up.
An environmental health officer said: "Noise should not be an issue provided construction materials of the garden room and plant room are sufficient to contain the noise.

"Any noise produced from the plant pool equipment will only affect the applicant's properties and therefore there are no objections to what is proposed."
The proposed pool house, plant room and changing room will be built 72ft from the back of the Le Bons' main 10-bedroom Victorian home, which also boasts a gym.
It will also be 31ft from the rear of their adjoining new build cottage, connected by a huge L-shaped garden.
In a letter of objection, one neighbour wrote: "I don't believe any future construction will be any better and has had a significant detrimental impact on my quality of life, and feeling of safety in my home."
But in a letter of support, another neighbour said: "This is, in my opinion, a well-thought out proposal which can do nothing but enhance the amenity of the residence and has my full support."
Duran Duran were formed in 1978 and had hits including Hungry Like The Wolf, Rio, Girls on Film, Wild Boys and Bond theme A View to a Kill.
Simon, 65, and Yasmin, 59, were last year given the go-ahead to excavate their back garden to make way for an outdoor pool.
Officials at the local council have now granted planning permission for the solar-powered pool house at their home which they share with daughters Tallulah, Saffron and Amber.
