And the best way to see it is by open-top bus, with a pretty bus route named one of the best in Britain.

Called the Land's End Coaster, the journey starts from Penzance , taking a few hours while running along the Cornish coastline before terminating at Land's End.

Depending on which ticket you buy, you can even choose to hope on and off to explore each town.

St Ives is one of the most popular staycation spots in the UK, with surfing beaches, Tate art gallery and the mildest climate in the UK which has a "tropical feel," according to the Cornwall tourism website.

For something quieter, Sennen Cove is often said to have one of the best beaches in Cornwall, with a mile of soft sand.

Other stop offs include the tiny village of Zennor and the beach of Porthcurno, which remains around 17C even in the autumn.

During the summer months, the buses depart every hour from 8:45am, with the last bus being 5:45pm.

One way tickets start from £2, with the discounted rate running until December 2024.

Or you can book a day pass for £7, which lets you hop on and off.

The website states: "One of the UK’s most spectacular open top bus rides, showcasing rugged coastlines, mining heritage sites, harbour towns and Land’s End itself."

Previous passengers have raved about it - one person said: "I cannot recommend this route enough for the views alone."

It only runs from May to September, but is ideal for the summer break as well as the May holidays.

Don't worry if you get carsick - you can do a similar journey by train too, for just £3.

And a new five-day train ride is launching in the UK with some of the beautiful sights in the north along the way.
