I’m a gypsy wife and there’s 6 rules I have to live by – I don’t socialise with men and how I stir tea is even judged
A TRAVELLER woman has revealed the rules she has to live by - from not talking to men to how to stir her tea the correct way.
Tracey King regularly shares snippets of her life on social media and revealed what it's really like growing up in the community.
She said: "Things I've been brought up to do, coming from a gypsy family."
Tracey added that growing up, the family never called themselves gypsies - preferring the term Romani Traveller.
The mum revealed that she was never allowed to get into a car with a traveller man.
"I'd never get in the car with a travelling man, never ever ever," she added.

She also revealed that if a traveller man came to her house and she was the only person in, he would not be allowed into the home.
"I wouldn't let that man in my place if my husband wasn't here," she explained, a dding in the comments: "you get talked about, then you get a bad name."
Tracey noted that when it comes to social gatherings - the men and women tend to sit separately from each other.
The women will bring cups of tea around and bring them to the men but won't stand around and chat to them Tracey said.
"Times are changing, but there's still a lot of similarities today," she continued.
She revealed she would stand with her husband, Mark, despite being brought up not to.
Tracey also added that she didn't rate a lot of the rules put in place by her community while growing up so she often doesn't adhere to the super strict ones.
Another bizarre rule Tracey was brought up with was never stirring tea with a knife.
While most of us have done it when there's not a clean teaspoon - she revealed this was a big no-no.
"Never stir your tea with a knife 'cause it's stirring trouble," she noted.
"Another thing was never crossing knives in the washing up bowl cause you'll get bad luck that day."
Lastly, she explained that you always had to salute to a magpie if you spotted one or you'd get bad luck as well.
In previous clips, Tracey has revealed why she avoided dating within her community and instead married a country person.
Tracey and Mark have now been together for years but she revealed the main reason she decided to get married to a non-traveller.
She has admitted that she loves her grub and it's one of the key reasons she married Mark.
In a recent clip, Mark made the family a hearty bread pudding, something that wouldn't happen if he was a gypsy claimed Tracey.
She said: "This is why, I'm gonna say it.
"I'm gonna say it.
"This is why I didn't want a traveller man.
"Cause I ain't seen a traveller man cook, and I know I like grub."
Despite being happily married for years - Tracey added that her family has only just accepted the fact she married outside of the community.
"They’ve just the last 2 years excepted him," she revealed.
The clip posted to her TikTok account @traceywinter1 has since gone viral with over 100k views and over 4,000 likes.
People were quick to share their thoughts on the strict rules in the comments section.
One person wrote: "This seems very 1940s. but as long as you're happy in your life."
Another commented: "As a polish gypsy we do most of these as well."
"Morals," penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: "I’m not from the travelling community but I’d agree I wouldn't get in a car with a man or let another man in my home if my husbands not home."
Someone else added: "I'm a non traveller and I don't allow men into my house unless my fella is home."
