Residents react to plumes of smoke
Concerned residents have flocked to social media this morning following the huge blaze.
One resident wrote: "What’s happening with the big fire down at Lakeside behind Sainsbury’s in Cannock?
"Massive plumes of smoke can be seen for miles around."
Local business urged to 'evacuate'
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service this morning said: "We have a very large scale incident close to the orbital islands in Cannock.
"We have 10 fire engines in attendance supported by specialist equipment and officers. Some roads closures are in place."
It then added: "Fire Fighters are asking all residents to close windows and doors due to smoke and all local businesses to evacuate."
Huge fire erupts in Staffordshire
A huge fire has erupted this morning sending plumes of black smoke into the sky.
Dozens of firefighters have been rushed to the scene to try extinguish the blaze.
