Woman, 23, found dead in Skegness nature reserve as cops arrest man, 45, over her ‘murder’
A WOMAN has been found dead in a Skegness nature reserve, as cops launch a murder investigation and arrest a 45-year-old man.
Lincolnshire Police believe the body of the woman is the missing 23-year-old Petra Ross.
Ms Ross was reported missing on January 19.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
A formal identification of the body has not yet been made.
A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: "We have launched a murder investigation after the body of a woman was found near Gibraltar Point in Skegness.
"While formal identification has yet to take place, we believe this to be the body of 23-year-old Petra Ross, who was reported missing on Friday.
"Her family have been made aware. Inquiries are ongoing."
Gibraltar Point is situated along the coastline, south of Skegness and is home to a popular nature reserve and the oldest official bird observatories in the UK.
Its diverse wildlife makes it popular with walkers and also has a number of cycle paths.
