In their video, the pros at Cost of Living Crisis Tips (@costoflivingcrisistips) demonstrated their easy trick for making your heating go further.

The TikTokers use their platform to share simple hacks for saving money in your home.

"It's that time of year again," the professionals told their followers.

They demonstrated the best way to ensure you are maximizing the heat emitted from your radiator.

"Putting aluminum foil behind your radiators will reflect heat back into the room," they explained.

They showed their audience the best way to DIY insulate their heaters, pulling the roll up several inches and placing it on top of the appliance.

The experts recommended trying the trick instead of letting the heat "seep through the walls."

They pointed out that the measure actually helps to save on heating bills.

According to the experts at Low-e, insulating your heater is a smart way to save money.

"Radiators don’t just radiate heat internally, so any heat on the wall side can be lost through the wall and out of your home," they explained.

"In fact, 50% of the heat emitted from a radiator is directed at the wall and approximately 25% of it is lost through the wall," the pros added.

TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the hack.

"I would rather be warmer and have an uglier home than a tidy home and sit there with my toddler cold," wrote one viewer, referring to the odd-looking trick.

"Not sure this works, honestly. It gets hot really fast, therefore it transmits more heat to the wall," said another follower.
