Inside brand new Wilko store open in time for Christmas with decorations that look just like expensive John Lewis ones

WILKO has opened a brand new store bursting with Christmas decorations, home decor and even a Dulux paint mixing station.

The budget retailer went into administration this summer but was saved by The Range - and now its products rival John Lewis’ luxury offering.

One shopper visited a new Wilko store and showcased the Christmas baubles and decorations lining shelves.

Quirky tree decorations - including teddy bear Beefeaters, glittery carriages and flamenco dresses - cost just £2.29.

And they look just like those offered by John Lewis this year, despite its Tinker Tailor Carriage Christmas Tree Decoration costing £25 and Polar Planet Felt Santa Tree Decoration costing £8.

The team at Step Forward Luton went to check out their new local Wilko shop, which is the third “concept store” opened by The Range since the acquisition in September.

“The first thing we noticed was a huge range of Christmas decor and it’s at such great prices,” Step Forward Luton said in a TikTok video.

“Just look at some of these cute items.

“But you’ll never guess who was making a special appearance at the store - it was the Dulux dog.

“There is even a Dulux mixing station in-store now.”

They added that Wilko is stocking “tonnes more products” than it was before it shut down all of its high-street shops.

“There’s a great selection of home decor goods now,” Step Forward Luton said.

“As well as all your old Wilko favourites.”

Viewers of the video were quick to suggest that most of the stock are products from The Range’s offering - meaning you don’t need to be near the new Wilko store to pick up a bargain.

“They have exactly the same stuff in The Range,” one claimed.

“Should’ve changed the logo to have “by The Range” in small below the Wilko logo,” another penned.

Back in September, Wilko administrators agreed the sale of the retailer’s brand name to The Range in a £5m deal.
