Ronnie O'Sullivan first met met Jackie Chan during his recent trip to Asia.
But the pair are surprisingly close pals and talk on FaceTime regularly.
The Rocket was presented with a bouquet of flowers by the Kung Fu icon last Friday while in Macau.
After serving his match-fixing ban Zhao Xintong has been named as one of 16 elite amateurs to take part in the UK Championship qualifying rounds in Leicester between November 16-21.
Should he progress to the main draw at York Barbican, he could face the likes of reigning world champion Kyren Wilson, world No1 Judd Trump or Ronnie O’Sullivan.
Zhao Xintong, who was at the centre of last year’s match-fixing storm, is set compete in UK Championship qualifying this month.
In June 2023, Xintong was one of ten Chinese players charged with match-fixing offences by an independent World Professional Billiards and Snooker association (WPBSA) disciplinary commission.
He was given a two-year and six-month suspension and ordered to pay £7,500 in costs.
This ban was reduced following early admissions and his plea of guilty to one year and eight months – and that ban expired at the start of September.
None of the other nine disgraced stars have served the full length of their suspensions.
Xu Si secured the second 147 break of his career in in Nanjing today.
It came in his 6-2 win over Ryan Day.
The 26-year-old is now in line to pocket £5,000 given to the player with the highest break of the tournament.
Ronnie O'Sullivan is perhaps not surprised to crash out to Chinese star Pang Junxu today after praising the country's players after beating He Guoqiang in the previous round.
O'Sullivan said earlier this week: "These Chinese boys are so talented. I wish I had their games. They’re so technically good.
"I’ve got that nous. I’m a bit streetwise, that’s got me through my whole career.
"But I wish I had the technique that about 80 guys on the tour have.
“The way they pot balls is unbelievable. I can’t pot like them. If I had their technique and cue action I’d go unbeaten the whole of my life.”
Pang Junxu has revealed a change in mindset led to him knocking out Ronnie O'Sullivan.
He said after his win: "In my previous meetings against Ronnie, I held back quite a bit.
"But this time I played more freely and went for my shots.
"It wasn’t fear. I approached the game as an opportunity to learn from him.”
Pang Junxu got the better of Ronnie O'Sullivan 6-4 in the last 32 of the International Championship.
On the win, the 24-year-old rising star said: “In the penultimate frame, I felt a bit tense and I didn’t get the position I wanted.
“I left myself with an almost impossible angle (on the black), so I wasn’t sure how to take on that final ball.
“When Ronnie came back to level after I was leading 4-2, I didn’t feel much pressure. His comeback wasn’t really related to my own performance.
“I managed to finish the last two frames with single visits. Overall, I felt much better, the rhythm was great, my luck was good and my long pots were solid."
Ronnie O'Sullivan is set to play in the Champion of Champions next week in Bolton and then it is the UK Championship – which he has won a record eight times – in York.
Yet he is not planning on flying straight back to the UK and will spend several more days out in Asia.
On whether he will play, O’Sullivan said: "I will see. I will spend a few days here in China. I’ve got a bit more stuff to do.
“I don’t know, I always make my mind up a day before a tournament whether I am going to play or not. I don’t even know what I’m doing.
“Listen, ever since I have been playing the game, I always make my mind up the day before the event. If you feel good, you want to play, you are ready – then you play.
“If you are not ready, you don’t play. So hopefully I am ready to play. That’s all."
