Ruth has since filmed her drive to camp showing just how treacherous conditions are.

Sitting in the passenger side of the vehicle, Ruth captions the video: "Interesting drive into camp this morning!!!."

The Loose Women star then makes sure to get a firm grip of the area on top of the glove compartment, as her car is driven towards where the celebs are staying.

Her driver can then be seen slowing down significantly to avoid the car being swept away, as he negotiates his way around an overflowing waterfall, which is cascading down the side of the road.

Campmates on Saturday night's I'm A Celebrity were seen struggling to cook dinner as the rain was so heavy, with the downpour so severe it threatened to impact filming.

Ruth also added further footage from the early hours of the morning showing the heavy rain wasn't easing, which she captioned: "I mean you've got to laugh haven't you, not if you're a campmate obviously."

Ruth was signed up by show bosses, having recently split from husband Eamonn Holmes.

As she departed from Heathrow airport earlier this week, Ruth shared a snap of her three enormous suitcases, and told her Instagram followers: "Never could travel light!"

She had been backing Loose Women colleague and Sun columnist Jane Moore to triumph on I'm A Celeb, and said she was "gutted" that Jane was the first to be voted out on Friday.

She said: "I'm so gutted for her, I really am."

Ruth added that she fears the camp will "fall apart" without Jane and asked: "Who's going to do the washing up now?"

Ruth also said on Unpacked that she feels Jane was key in maintaining a harmonious atmosphere among campmates.

She said of Jane: "She says what she thinks and won't change her mind, people saw the caring side of her.

"People are just talking so much more and I think she's been very responsible for that.

As Jane, 62, left the camp, she suggested that the most workshy campmates would become more obvious, as more celebrities get voted out.

She said: "As people get voted off, it will become more apparent who's not doing the hard work."
