But today, Jon, 54, was back on the BBC Breakfast sofa looking dapper in a navy suit with a white shirt and pink and blue patterned tie.

Jon's tie complimented Sally's outfit, as the journalist went for an all-baby pink ensemble.

The outfit consisted of pastel pink trousers and suit jacket, with a matching pink jumper underneath.

Later in the show, Sally headed outside to meet a girls football team for a segment discussing gender inequality in sports.

She showed off a pair of multi-coloured pastel trainers and swapped her suit jacket for a pink coat.

She also added a plum coloured gilet underneath to keep her warm in the cold March temperatures.

Sally's ensemble impressed BBC Breakfast viewers, with one writing on X: "Looking lovely as always" alongside a heart emoji.

Another added: "looking sensational this morning".

At the end of the segment, Sally took a shot at goal and scored, prompting one fan to write: "I thought your footwear might let you down. But, what a strike. Looking lovely as always xx."

Jon's absence from the show on Monday had come just days after he had headed to Buckingham Palace to meet Queen Camilla.

Sharing a video to his Instagram, Jon was seen chatting to the Royal about the BBC's 500 Words competition.

He captioned the video: "Exactly one year after we relaunched #bbc500words on #bbcbreakfast it was an honour to be at Buckingham Palace for the Grand Final.

"Tens of thousands of primary school children entered the UK's biggest writing competition.

"You can find out who won - and hear their mind-blowingly brilliant stories - on a special edition of The One Show on Thursday 7 March - which happens to be World Book Day.
