I’m a gypsy and here’s how you can tell the real travellers from the fakes with a tell-tale fashion sign

A WOMAN from the traveller community has revealed exactly how she spots who is a real or fake gypsy and it's all down to their fashion sense.

Suzy, from the UK, took to social media to spill the tea so you too can see who is faking or not.

She said: "How to spot a gypsy/traveller wannabe (wide'o)."

The mum of one explained that fake Channel earrings were a dead giveaway to those trying to be a gypsy despite not growing up within the community.

"First we have these absolutely beautiful earrings," she began.

"Every wide'o and their mother has a pair of these, the fake Chanel."

Another tell-tale sign according to Suzy was wearing a big fake fur coat.

While Suzy has nothing against fur coats, she did reveal that these cheap buys weren't worth the money.

"One drop of rain and these are falling apart," she added "You look like a big wet dog."

Moving back to jewellery, Suzy explained that a gold rag doll necklace was another way to tell if someone was a traveller wannabe.

She explained that while travellers did use to wear this style a lot, they don't anymore and anyone seen with this sort of necklace was probably not a gyopsy.

Suzy said: "I only see the wide'os with this, and it's not even real gold girls."

Hair clips which are adorned with designer logos are another tell-tale sign of an impostor .

Of course, these aren't real designer pieces says Suzy who explained these are bought in the market.

Other signs the traveller woman said to be on the loom out for was women wearing very dark fake tan and those who always have a can of knock-off Red Bull in their hands.

The post has since gone viral on her TikTok account @cuzinsuzy92 with over 39k views and 2,500 likes.

People were quick to take to the comments to share their thoughts.

One person wrote: "Me realising I was a wido in the naughties."

Another commented: "Oh god not the Argos doll necklace."

"Oh this is spot on!! Absolutely need a part 2! Brilliant…," penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: "Mink hair scrunchies! Were a massive thing in the gypsy community as I was growing up! And all the girls got on board! Gypsy or not!"

"I’m from Kent … this is spot on lmao,” claimed a fifth.
