IT is said that looks can be deceiving, especially if you are this Canadian couple.
Whilst others might assume that Fabienne Laferrière is waiting to ‘collect the inheritance’, the young woman insists that she is in love with her boyfriend – who is 46 years older.
At first glance, many might assume that the presenter and model is a money hungry – especially after hearing that her boyfriend, Denis, is 75 years old.
However, their love story actually began at a charity event for disadvantaged children with the couple chatting towards the end of the evening.
Having been the main speaker at the event, the 29-year-old was meeting with other guests and recalled the moment the former businessman gave her his number.
Ironically, it was Fabienne who needed some convincing and she wasn’t even sure whether she’d see the older man again.

She told filmmakers for Love Don’t Judge: “I didn’t say yes but I didn’t say no. I just decided to take his number.”
However, she admitted that she found him ‘charming’ and said: “My first impression was that he was different from other guys.”
Meanwhile, Denis, 75 needed no such convincing - having exclusively dated young women for the past 22 years.
He gushed: “Physically, I found her stunning and I have to admit, I really want to go out with her.”
Following their first date, the couple began seeing each other and are now virtually inseparable, spending as much time as possible together.
“I do Facebook lives with her, I do Tiktoks with her, we organise meet ups,” revealed the septuagenarian, adding: “It’s a new life for me.”
Despite both of them being highly successful in their own careers, the couple are still having to deal with assumptions about their relationship.
Trolls have regularly targeted their social media, leaving cruel remarks on their viral videos.
Originally written in French, one cruel comment read: “Of course. It’s for the money. Nothing else…she is just waiting for the old man to die for the inheritance.”
Some also claim that Dennis is the 29-year-old’s ‘sugar daddy’, with Fabienne saying: “We receive nasty comments saying I was taking advantage, [that] I was a gold digger, that I didn’t love Denis that Denis was an old man [and] going to die soon.”
Laughing them off, she stated: “We don’t read those comments anymore. We don’t waste our energy on that.”
Denis added: “Everything that she buys or does for herself, she does it with her own money that she earns.”
Friends were also concerned by the unusual relationship, including Fabienne’s friend Aurelie - who now claims that couple are ‘well matched’.
She confessed: “I was wondering ‘is it going to work?…is she going into it for the right reasons?’ But they’re a well-matched couple. They’re not together for the wrong reasons.”
Both Denis and Fabienne are also under no illusions about their relationship either.
With neither of them wanting children, the pair are happy to enjoy their relationship without any external pressure.
Claiming that they have ‘fun together’, the younger woman said: “Will we have the same relationship in five or 10 years? Perhaps not."

"But what’s important is that we’ve created a life that’s ours, and it’s a life that I wouldn’t want to change for anything in the world.”
To which Denis replied: “I saw a chance of happiness in life and I decided to go for it.”
