Shoppers can snap them up via The Range's website and in-store.

The retailer recently posted the product on its Facebook page with the caption: "With the scare of Asian Hornets coming to the U.K. we've stocked up on these.

"Only £2.49, these mesh insect window screens are now available in stores - they're an absolute saviour in spring and summer."

The post, redirecting people to The Range's website, has notched up hundreds of likes and comments from shoppers keen to snap the item up.

Others have commented saying they've already bought some of the life savers.

One said: "I use one for my back door, brilliant. The cat has even worked out that she can still get through."

Another added: "I'm wasp and bee phobic and these are great! Bought loads last year!"

And a third chimed in: "My daughter hates flying things and spiders. They love her bedroom so I need to get something like this!!"

Of course, whenever buying something like this remember to shop around to see if you are getting the best deal.

You can use websites like Price Spy that let you compare prices on thousands of products.

Are you being duped at the supermarket?

A quick scan using the Google Shopping/Product tab will bring up how much retailers are selling a particular item for as well.

Factor in extra costs like delivery fees which might make a product more expensive than another overall too.

We had a quick look online and you can in fact get bug mesh window screens for less than The Range.

Poundland has some that are exactly the same size for £1.50 while B&Q has a pack of three window mesh screens for £5 - £1.66 each.

How to save money at The Range

THE Range shoppers can save extra cash by using these tips...

Shop, within a shop - In some The Range stores there's a 'secret' shop within a shop.

You can purchase Iceland products in over 85 of the retailer's branches.

The budget grocery items are a must for plenty of shoppers with hungry mouths to feed back at home.

Shop the sale - Even some of the biggest ticket items are slashed in price if you know when to shop.

A good tip for online shoppers is to use the "offers" tab on The Range website.

It's where you'll find deals like this and all the best bargains are saved in one place so you can browse hundreds of products that have been reduced.

It's also where you'll find the "Mega Drop".

Use Facebook - You can use Facebook to your advantage before you head out to shop at The Range.

Like-minded bargain hunters flock to the social media platform to post all about their latest finds and how they managed to score the best prices.

It comes after The Range made a major change across all of its 210 stores.

Earlier this month, the chain unveiled a new and improved click and collect service.

The free of charge service has been streamlined so customers can now order items and collect them from an hour onwards.

Products are now also held in-branch for up to five days, so customers can visit and collect any bits at a suitable time.
