Gemma Collins reveals cutbacks at home after cost of living crisis forces her to ‘stop eating caviar’

GEMMA Collins has revealed she has been forced to make cutbacks at her home after the cost of living crisis.

The former Towie star has revealed the rising cost of living has forced her to make drastic changes in her lifestyles.

Gemma, 42, made the revelation when came face to face with resolute antiques dealer on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.

She appears alongside BBC Radio 1 presenter Melvin Odoom on the hit BBC Two show.

In a preview clip for the show, the reality star joined expert James Braxton to try and fish out the best deal in Southend-on-Sea.

The programme sees pairs of famous faces travelling around the country alongside the most established experts in antiques.

They seek to find hidden treasures at bargain prices as they compete in an auction to sell off the old heirlooms for the most money.

However, the GC might have met her match when she encounters Sally Tyrie, who owns the antiques shop, Sally’s Out of Curiosity.

She came up to the till after she spotted a stunning Georg Jensen brooch which came with complimentary earrings.

The Diva Forever star laid on her famous charm to the seller as she complimented her shop.

"Sally, firstly I just want to say, you have got the most fabulous shop,” she declared.

However, Sally was not taking her compliments as she retorted: "You’re not buttering me up, are you?"

The pair eventually agreed on a price for the accessories, but the star tried her luck as she spotted a 'random caviar bowl'.

She spotted the piece of crockery in the shop and sought to be thrown in as a freebie.

In her bartering for the product, she claimed: "No one eats caviar anymore because they can’t afford it.

"I wish I could, but since the cost of living crisis, I can’t. I’ve gone down to potted shrimps."

In Tuesday’s episode of the show, viewers are set to watch Gemma and Melvin as they drove across Essex in a luxurious surroundings.

They travelled in style in a 1964 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow as they scoured the local antiques scene to find the most lucrative treasures.

Away from the competition, Gemma also impresses as she partakes in a session at the local fishmonger’s cookery school.

Celebrity Antiques Road Trip airs Tuesday 28 November at 7pm on BBC Two and iPlayer.
