I scooped £200k on Postcode Lottery – but knew I’d won 2 weeks earlier for bizarre reason… people said I was delusional

A MUM has scooped a £200,000 lotto prize despite neighbours saying she was delusional when she claimed to have won two weeks ago.

The lucky winner almost threw away her chance at the jackpot but feels that some greater force stopped her.

Beth Garside, 32, told friends and family that she was "destined" to win the People's Postcode Lottery earlier this month but met with almost universal disbelief.

She even considered cancelling her ticket but kept the faith that she would claim a major prize "one day".

Amazingly, just two weeks later, Beth had her belief repaid many times over when her postcode was announced on the winner's list.

She told the Manchester Evening News: "It’s unbelievable.

"I just feel so lucky.

"About two weeks ago, I was sat in my parent’s living room, and I told them, ‘I just feel like I’m destined to win the Postcode Lottery!’

"I wasn’t joking, I was dead serious.

"Maybe I’m just delusionally optimistic."

And she was proved absolutely right when lotto officials informed her that she and four neighbours had each won a share of £1 million.

Amazingly, she only won because she and her husband Stephen, as well as their three children, had moved in with her parents in Oldham to save for a house deposit.

The family can now afford to get onto the property ladder and maybe even treat themselves to a holiday.

But Beth says she's also going to make sure her parents are looked after before they move out.

She went on: "Getting a house is everything to us.

"To have a family home and to give the kids their own bedrooms is everything.

"We can treat my parents because it’s their postcode.

"If it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t have won.

"My mum was crying her eyes out when I showed her the cheque."
