I’m a mum-of-4 – I have 3 lovely kids but my 6-year-old is a whinger, I wish we didn’t have her, she sucks all my energy

WHILE few would like to admit, many mums have a favourite when it comes to their children.

But one woman, who has four children, has admitted to the opposite...that she has a least favourite child who she claims "sucks all of her energy."

In a thread shared to Mumsnet, the frustrated mum candidly admits that she wishes she didn't have her daughter, who is six years old.

She explains: "I have 4 children, 3 are lovely easy children and 1 who whinges and whines all day about anything and everything."

The mum-of-four goes on to call her daughter "hard work" and says that while the other three go straight to bed when she asks, the fourth, who is the second youngest, stays up "fussing back and forth for hours."

She brands it "exhausting" and points out that her daughter never wants to go anywhere and has a tendency to "make everything about her" by "being difficult and awkward."

The annoyed mum continues: "She won't do as she's told, if she doesn't get her own way she screams and tantrums and ruins everyone else's day."

"She constantly and deliberately upsets her brothers and sister who have had enough, she'll only play with them if she gets her own way and if they don't want to play her way she'll ruin it for them or won't play."

Heartbreakingly, the mum admits: "She's 6 and I love her but I just know life would be so much happier for us all if we hadn't had her.

"I feel like she sucks all the energy out of me every single day."

Sharing some of her other pet peeves that her daughter does, the mum-of-four notes how her daughter "deliberately" talks over her siblings when they try and talk to her and will pull their hand away from hers if they're trying to hold it.

At the end of her tether, the woman admits: "I just don't have any energy left, she's completely depleting me and dh.

"She is full of anger and hatred and is wearing us down.

"She can be lovely when it suits her but it's usually short lived, just until something doesn't go her way."

It wasn't long before the comments section was flooded with messages from other social forum users.

"Behaviour is communication op," wrote one.

"If she’s full of ‘anger and hatred’ you need to find out why and sort it out with professional help for the benefit of your dd and the family.

A second advised: "I would definitely seek professional help, sooner rather than later. At 6, there is still time to turn things round."

However, the mum admitted that she's finding it "impossible" because her daughter's "so strong willed."

She continued: "When she was smaller I'd put her on the bottom step of the stairs but she'd just get back up, if I sent her to her room she just refuses and if I take her she immediately walks back down.

"I sit her down and try to have a chat about it and ask her about her feelings and she just looks away grunts and hits me.

"I feel as though I've lost control of her because I've tried so many things but she's stubborn and it's a battle of wills.

"I try to pick my battles but nothing works."
